This wide-brimmed hat was created to help protect people
from the hot sun.

is a traditional Mexican food that
is made from a tortilla. This tortilla,
usually made of corn (maize), is
rolled or folded and filled.
Fillings usually consist of beef with
lettuce, cheese, and guacamole,
though chicken, pork and even fish
can be used.

is a Mexican meal that is based on a tortilla filled with
meat, beans or cheese.
Today, burritos consist of a savoury filling such as
chicken, beef or pork with an array of vegetables, rice,
beans and condiments.

Chichen Itza

is a large city built by the Maya people and is located on the
Yucatan Peninsula. The buildings here are made from stone
with the Castillo being probably the most famous of the
buildings.

Chili

peppers, native to South and Central America, are noted for
their hot flavor.
They were domesticated in Mexico over 6,000 years ago.
In early civilisations, chili peppers were used as a form of
currency.
While they may irritate us, birds are immune to the effects
and are largely responsible for helping wild peppers spread.

Cacti

are native to the Americas, generally living
in dry places that are prone to drought.

Their spines and thick skin help protect


them from animals who would love to have
access to the water the cactus collects
through their large root system and stores
inside.

Mexico. It is celebrated on the evening
of the 31st of October through to the
2nd of November.
During this festival, Mexicans celebrate the life of their
deceased family members.
