MISSION SALVATION/KINGDOM
CHURCH
(Holy Spirit)
Apostles/Disciples
The Sacrament of God is Jesus and the Sacrament of Jesus is the Church (John 20:21, Acts 1:8). The Church started as a religious
renewal “movement”/group in Jerusalem, Israel by no other than Jesus Christ. Jesus grounded the Church on the foundation of the Apostles and it
spread from Jerusalem to the Roman Empire world until throughout all the earth.
The first “name” of the Church was The Way (Acts 9:2), The members of the Church were called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11: 26). The
Church was persecuted by the Roman Empire (which was still pagan) until the Conversion of the Emperor Constantine in 313 AD which paved the
way for Christians to infiltrate Rome until Christianity was declared as the official religion of the Roman Empire in 380 AD by Emperor Theodosius.
Way back in 45 AD, the first apostle who went to Rome and started the Church there was no other than Peter. Later, reflecting on the mission
of Jesus which He passed on to the Church, the Church’s official “name” or title evolved into: One (John 17:21), Holy (Ephesians 1:4, 5:27, I Peter
2:9), Catholic (Matthew 28: 18-20, Acts 1:8, Gen 12: 3, John 3: 16-17) and Apostolic (Ephesians 2:20 )
STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS:
The prophets is the biblical tradition were called: “NEVIIM” which literally means “mouthpieces” of God.
Jesus relationship with God as His son is characterized by total unity with His Father.
When Phillip asked Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus replied, “if
you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”
We have never seen God, but by looking at the life of Jesus, we have an idea of what kind of God the Father is.
So kung hindi ka

FIRST.Noong na BOOGGSSHHHH si Jesus Christ (namatay). Hindi nagstop dun ang preaching about the Kingdom pf
God. In fact yung grupo ng mga disipilo ang nag continue ng mission ni Jesus kahit na may pagbabanta sa buhay nila.
So ano ang pinipreach ng mga disipilo kasi dito na natinmalalaman ang rason.
Jesus LIFE, MINISTRY, DEATH AND THE EXPERIENCE OF HIS RESURRECTION ang ginawa nilang bases para sa
mga early followers to form a community which is later known as the CHURCH. REST KA NA MUNA TA YUNG MUKHA

The LETTER OF SAINT PAUL are the oldest sources in the New testament to shed light on how the early Christians
defined their identity as CHURCH.
WHY?
TALENTS ARE GIFTS FROM GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
-even though we have different talents there is equality and uniformity.m
So, how can we give back our talents to God? By ACTS OF SERVICE
But, during the time of Saint Paul, there is this misconception about talents.
WHAT? Those who have greater gifts are ranked higher in the community causing to establish a hierarchy.
This was then clarified by Saint Paul highlighting that there is no better gift than the other so no one is better than
the other one.
So maski single ka, kasi feel mo walang nagmamahal sayo, eh deserve mo lang ata hahahahhahahaha
pasok ka padin sa Kingdom ni God.
Dito we are to compare the circular method to that of triangular method. Pag circle equal siya pag triangular may
hierarchy. So, to solve tha challenge which is the clericalization(rank), we should realize that all members and
leaders have the same dignity although they perform different function and roles.
Note: there should be no clericalization in the sense of considering the growth of the church as the sole
duty of the ordained ministry of the Church leadership because it is a shared responsibility.
3. From Sacralization to More Historical Perspective
Sacralization means making someone or something sacred.
Bakit nga ba challenge itong sacralization?
Tayo kasing mga Pilipino, we tend to be gullible and mabilis tayomg maniwala without looking into roots or how a
thing or someone is being held sacred. Eh diba we only consider something of someone sacred if:

So may proseso lapa hindi yung porke may image na nabuo sa oader eh we worship such thing.
EXAMPLE: Nung sa isang episode ng KMJS, yung tubig daw sa pader eh may namuong muka ni birheng maria.
And people there even sa other places eh pumupunta dun to pray and to get some water only to find out na galing
sa leaked ng kebuta. So imagine?
Second Vatican Council- gather Church leaders all over the world to assess what was happening and to read the signs of the times.
John XXIII (now St John XIII) convened the council envisioned an aggiornamento within the church. Nagkaroon ng fresh dialogue sa ibang Churches.
Vatican II documents, Lumen Gentium and Gaudium et Spes, provide insights into the scriptural image of the Church as people of God.
Recall: LG- Dogmatic Constitution of the Church- you can’t question the practices.
GS- Pastoral Constitution of the Church Modern World.

Week 5
Religious Education is a significant avenue for evangelization. Evangelization is considered the task and mission of all Christian. It is an integral
dimension of the Church's evangelizing mission.
Nature and Aim of Religious Education
1. Information - imparting basic information about the Christian/Catholic faith, which includes statements and explanations of doctrine and official
teaching, creeds of belief, moral values, historical information, Scripture, Sacraments, and liturgical celebrations.
2. Formation- "the level of affect, or emotion, or value”.
3. Transformation- "develop and renew their faith to make a personal commitment to Jesus, a commitment that involves knowledge and gut-level
emotion, a commitment that makes Jesus Christ become real and present in every aspect of life and fills that life with meaning."
