Here’s the head.

Here’s an arm.

Here’s a hand.

Here are the fingers.

Here’s a leg.

Here’s a knee.

Here’s a foot.

Here are the toes.

Speaking Activity - Chant With Actions

Instruction:

1) Students are shown the whole chant on the board.

2) For each line, students are shown an action for them to do while

they chant.

3) The suggested actions for each line:

First line : move hands up and down in slow motion


Second line : pat your head
Third line : show your muscle
Fourth line : put your hand up
Fifth line : wriggle your fingers
Sixth line : give a high kick
Seventh line : point to your knee
Eighth line : stomp your foot
Ninth line : wriggle your toes
Last line : shout “Hurray!”

4) Once students are more familiar with the chant, they can do this

activity in groups of three. Each group discusses what action they

can do and be creative about it.

5) The teacher can turn this group activity into a chanting competition.
