This workshop will dedicate a total of 30 hours to explain Excel Financial
Functions, Financial Statements, Developing Company Financial Models, Project
Finance Modeling, Portfolio Optimization and Risk And Corporate Valuations.

Workshop on Financial Modeling Using Excel

Financial Modeling covers standard financial models in the areas of


corporate finance and financial statement simulation. The aim of this
course is to explain clearly and concisely the implementation of models
using Excel.

Financial Statements: Valuation based on the Consolidated
Statement of Cash Flow; Pro Forma Financial Statement Modeling;
Session 5:Identify Factors that Impact a Sector’s Valuation and
Performance

3 Session 6: 10 hours
Develop Company Financial Models: Forecast Scenarios for the
Most Critical Factors through different companies along with historical
weighted average cost of capital.

Project Finance Modelling: Risks- analysis and mitigation,financial
model, inputs, sensitivity, and cost of capital,
construction,borrowingand output, Session 10:
preparingprojected financial statementsincluding cash flow, evaluating
a projects debt capacity and cash flow waterfall, measuring expected
rates of return,
Session 11:
sensitivity analysis through Toll Project Case Study

5 Session 12: 3 hours


Portfolio Optimization and Risk: Develop model based on two
assets portfolio, develop model based on more than two assets ( n
assets) portfolio,
Session 13:
variance covariance matrix, creating efficient frontier for asset
allocation, using solver to find minimum variance portfolio and
optimal(market portfolio) in asset case,
Session 14:
CML model, calculation of beta based on data gathered from any
stock exchange.

Feedback –
We will conduct an online quiz at the end of the class based on the contents taught in
the lecture. This quiz will be a graded activity carrying marks as part of Continuous
Evaluation. Before the beginning of the next class, we will check the responses and
give a feedback to the participants based on it.
We will also give formal as well as informal feedback on the assignments, flipped
presentations, project reports etc.
