Application of ISO 14001 in food processing enterprises

The environment has been one of the hot issues in our world, not just in the food industry
but in general industry. In recent years, our industry has been focused on increasing profits.The
industry is so focused on gaining profit that we neglect the environmental side of our world.
That’s why some customers stop supporting the industry and turn their backs on us. Bringing
more development to the enterprise makes our environment suffer. That is why governments
make an effort to implement environmental management systems (EMS) in order to implement
environmental policies in all businesses.

As I previously stated, as we develop and advance, the environment suffers more.If we

ignore the environment, we will cause more pollution.Vietnam is paying a heavy price for
focusing on developing and advancing its economic side and making it boom. disregarding and
underestimating the importance of environmental protection and food safety for customers.
Solving these environmental issues in an era of accelerating industrialization and modernization
is not only the responsibility of the government, but also of businesses and individuals like us.

That is why our government established EMS to organize and continuously improve an
enterprise's environmental performance without jeopardizing customer food safety.Adopting
enterprises must also develop an environmental strategy, define goals and targets, put in place a
program to attain those goals, monitor and evaluate the program's success, address issues, and
carry out evaluations aimed at enhancing the EMS, according to the ISO 14001 standard.

In conclusion, the government organization of every country is continuously improving

its EMS to make sure that every enterprise is following every policy it creates. With ISO is
improving, and enterprises are acquiring it. Certification is one of the best ways for the
government to monitor what is going on and prevent businesses from negatively impacting the
environment.It cannot be denied that our industry causes a lot of destruction in the environment,
but it taught us that we also need to focus on the environmental side without giving up on food
safety.
