Huazhong University of Science and Technology is located in Wuhan City,

Hubei Province, central China. It is a national key university directly under the

Ministry of Education of China. It is one of the first batch to enter the national

"211" project and the "985" project. The school campus covers an area of

more than 7,000 acres, with lush trees and green grass, and a green

coverage rate of 72%. It is known as a "forest-style university". The school has

a complete teaching support system and complete public service facilities.

The school has 10 major disciplines including philosophy, economics, law,

education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art. It

has 99 undergraduate majors, 202 master's programs, 189 doctoral programs,

and postdoctoral research There are 39 mobile stations. Among them, there

are 6 undergraduate majors taught entirely in English, and more than 80

master's or doctoral majors taught entirely in English.

The school has a strong teaching staff, with more than 3,000 full-time

teachers, including more than 1,000 professors and more than 1,300

associate professors. There are currently about 60,000 students on campus,

including more than 34,000 undergraduates and more than 19,000 graduate

students. Currently, nearly 3,000 foreign students from more than 130

countries are studying at the school, including more than 2,000 degree

students.

How to Study in China Absolutely Free

The school has strong scientific research capabilities and has built major

national scientific and technological infrastructures such as the Wuhan

National Optoelectronics Laboratory (in preparation) and the pulsed high

magnetic field experimental device. It also has 5 national key laboratories, 1

key laboratory for national defense science and technology, and 6 national

projects ( Technology) research center, 1 national engineering laboratory, 2

national professional laboratories and a number of provincial and ministerial

level research bases, and publishes nearly 40 academic journals at home and

abroad.

The school adheres to the open education concept and actively carries out

all-round and multi-level international exchanges and cooperation. It has

established good inter-school exchange relations with more than 100

universities in 26 countries and regions, including the United States, the

United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Every year, about 300 batches of

more than 1,500 foreign experts and scholars come to our school to teach,

cooperate in scientific research, and carry out academic exchange activities.

The school began to recruit foreign students to study at the school in the early

1960s. For more than 50 years, it has trained more than 5,000 international

students of various types for more than 130 countries and regions around the

world. After international students have obtained bachelor's, master's or

doctoral degrees awarded by Huazhong University of Science and Technology

and returned to China, many of them have become outstanding engineers and
technicians, famous medical experts, government managers or diplomatic

officials of their host countries stationed in China.

The school has also established a President's Scholarship to reward

outstanding international students in China. In 2002, the International

Students Office of the School of International Education of Huazhong

University of Science and Technology was established as a management

organization specifically responsible for international students. It is constantly

improving and standardizing the recruitment, training, management and

services of international students.

In July 2013, the Ministry of Education launched the construction of the first

batch of study abroad demonstration bases in China. Our school stood out in

the selection and became the first batch of study abroad demonstration bases

by the Ministry of Education. From now on, Huazhong University of Science

and Technology will also welcome more international students to study at the

school.
