Proposal Meeting 4 – June 6th, 2021

Gear Quality and 3DMG Reparation

 Best for expedition


o Everyone starts with default gear
o Then you get resources from killing titans or from resource gathering
o Then you can improve your gear
o Someone else can steal your gear when you die
o If you die, you start back from normal gear
 You can recuperate back to your quality gear with a repair kit
 Can pick up gear from dead players
 Not change stats that much
 What about break threshold
o Normal = 10 min, then chance that it breaks
 Break threshold shouldn’t completely break
o Break = bad
o Bonuses are gone
 Summary: do an action, and get buff for your character
 Post-poned

Research Tree

 Titan customization?
o Previous talks, already got accepted
 For unlocking technology as a guild, you keep it forever
 Keep the research tree no complicated
 Main mission, can do side mission to get research points
o Then you can unlock new technology
 Perhaps shop?
o Get points for playing games and missions
o Then you can purchase power-ups
 Can only equip one power-up at a time
 Accepted

Active Tracking by Titans and Ability to Grab or Slap Players Mid-Air

 Isn’t the same as the aimed attacks


 Use inverse kinematics – hand follows specific part of the player, hand tracks the player and
tries to grab them
 Issues of phantom grabbing?
o Mainly caused by latency
 Need to determine how much tracking is too much
 Interesting Challenge for all players
 Perhaps glowing or angry eyes when they have tracked onto a player
o Blinking eyes
 RazenToast – a special roar indicating that they have locked on

Co-hosting

 Approved
 Requires changes on the go
 Perhaps already tested? – Acros
 Make sure you have the ability to give different commands to different players
o Player A has ability to revive and tp
o Player B can only revive
 MC able to give Co-Host mode (just like how MC able to give gunner, builder, etc. roles)
 Ability to transfer the MC role to another player
o Perhaps already covered
 Ability to load maps?
o Pre-made maps already made
o Free-roam map could technically take care of that
 Can add with missions and obstacles
o Option to make your own with map editor
o Map Switching be less often as the maps are going to be larger
 Map switching going to be more for different missions or gameplays
o Complicated for co-hosters to load maps?

New Player Titan Skills – More like Special Abilities (can only equip one)

 Scream
o Titans should be spread out – still allows to kill titans in the cluster
o Titans form a cluster
o 20 sec this ability will last – titans stick with you
o Perhaps there is a limit of how many titans can be with the PT that just screamed
o Accepted
 Mad Rush
o Speed up the animation for running and attack – increasing running speed for titan
o Also going to have glowing eyes for the titans
o Accepted
 Spinning
o Probably last a single second
o Perhaps used as both offensive and defensive attack
o Accepted but needs to be tested
 Super Smash
o Range of effect needs to be tested
o Regeneration also need to tested
o Good cost-benefit balance
o Sticks with the current version, not too much drastic
o Put a crater with cracks texture and smoke on the ground at the location where it gets
smashed

 That arm can still be cut by blade

 A power-up limit? When you activate this skill, this “power-up” gauge is going to

o Postponed – requires testing to see if it wouldn’t be too overpowered
 Detach Hooks
o Perhaps burster titan? – release steam from body and detach all hooks
o Doesn’t bring much to the table
o Need to do other opening during attack for PT to allow players to kill them
o Postponed - need to see how PT work so give a chance
 Run Push
o Charge attack? Ram attack?
o Seductive Basket – Tripping attack – can trip other titans into falling
 Any players beneath are crushed
 Any players close enough are pushed back

Changes to the Current Special Abilities

 Mikasa
o Perhaps decent amount of acceleration with it
o Shouldn’t immediately kill you momentum right away
 Faster trajectory going downward, but still moving forward
o Can also be angled in a way that normal attacks aren’t able to be angled
o Increased dmg would be too OP – dishonest, dmg doesn’t matter cuz that only matters
for nape min or nape HP
o Can last the entire time you hold down the special ability button
 But this attacks stop if collision or gas burst happens
o Approved
 Petra
o Can control how much you reel in your skill by
o Different angle for the attack depending on the hook placement sounds very
complicated
 Can be angled slightly

o Make sure that it can be angled a little bit

o 50 titans way too high – perhaps 10-20 titans for recharge, test needs to be done
o Perhaps lose a blade to save yourself for this skill?

o Able to ping titans through the walls and see where they are
 Can see an icon showing through walls
 Only Sasha will be able to see icons, Sasha player able to call-out through VC
o Able to tell if a pinged titan is AI or a PT

o Sniff, all titans within a certain radius are pinged and only show up for Mike
o Mike Player can tell other players through VC or chat the location of those elements

Evolving Free Roam Map

 Going to be painful
 If you can do those missions from time to time
 Doing those missions unlocks a special version of the gamemode – slight change in map,
different mechanics
 Also need to protect a certain map from titan invasion
 The ability to establish forward bases on captured territories should also work
 April Fools Edition – able to put player in cannon, and shoot yourself out of the cannon
 Approved – tested and tweaked required
 Shouldn’t be completely blown out of proportion
 Potential issues with implementation – forcing players to unlock content is not going to do well
long-term potential

Evolving Free Roam Map – Hawk

 Perhaps guild zone – faction warfare? – guild attacking each other?


 Can capture territory
 Guild vs Guild events if you want to

Realism Features and Mechanims

 Stunned on impact could address when you going fairly slow


 Too fast and slow down too quickly = death
 If you lose just a little bit a speed, not punishable by death, instead get stunned instead
 Concussed status should get worse
o Unable to see HUD
 There is a number of time you can get concussed – but too much = death
o Perhaps do a stack up system
o If you stack up to 40 sec or you have 4 “concussed” status stacked onto you, then you
die
o Requires testing
 If a player gets stunned, and they get stunned another time within a timeframe, the stunned
effect will be prolonged
 If you get stunned, there is a chance that you lose equipment (blade, lose one canister (only has
50% gas left) that can take off and become bullet)
o That canister that flyies around can knock other players and kill them or stun other
titans
o If you carry Thunder Spears, and you hit a try on high speed, they can blow up – thinking
the minimum should be more than 1.4k speed
 Chance of TS blowing up when you hit an obstacle goes higher as you go faster
 Another way that stun works:
o Lose equipment or they blow up or they start malfunctioning
 Faulty gear (can happen when you crash into a tree)
o Gas is a bit tilted
o Shift you to a side
o Repair this situation by going to supply situation – perhaps a longer reload animation to
fix the gear
 Post-poned – requires so much testing, worth testing and worth developing
 Perhaps for realism mode: can only reset character or swap character only in a supply zone
 Should endless respawn be disabled?
 Cyrus Mod Essential mod respawn system:
o Respawn in the order that you died
o You get revived when a threshold of titans is killed
 When you collide with titans, you should not be stunned or killed

Sprinter Titan

 One burst of speed towards attacking


 Titan goes in a straight line, can steer, but only a tiny bit
 Attacks
o Belly flops + dolphin dive attack
o Titans would run + jump, no need to stop for belly flop
o Can jump and try to grab players mid-air
o Run + slide on the ground (on their belly) and catch the player
 Horizontal nape when sprinting
 Approved

Additional feature
 Running into trees and getting stunned (face hitbox hitting things) should also be implemented
for crawlers
 Crawlers jumping or running towards and hitting face towards something should be staggered
 Approved
