Summary

Tina and Queenie are on the side of good. Their younger sister, Flora, was kidnapped
during the chaos in Paris by Vinda Rosier for Gellert Grindelwald. Now stuck on opposite
sides Tina and Queenie must help Albus Dumbledore if they have any hopes of saving their
sister. But rumours of a prophecy about Grindelwald and Flora threatens everything. This is
Flora rewritten and SOD based

Notes

Hey everyone.
So I decided to revisit Flora Goldstein and her story after Secrets of Dumbledore came out.
The idea has been changed to reflect the new movie coming out. If this flops it flops but I
enjoyed reworking the story and how Flora is caught between two worlds. Grindelwald is
12 years younger, as is Dumbledore for this story to work.
Lots of love,

Chapter 1

Sisters Divided – Part 1:

Flora Goldstein was sat on a bench outside Nurmengard Castle, not even caring that it was
extremely cold up in the snowy mountains that hid Grindelwald's hideout. The witch had snuck out
of the Castle full well knowing that she'd probably come face to face with her older sisters the next
day as it was the candidates' dinner.

Vinda Rosier had told Grindelwald that she'd seen not only Theseus Scamander but Newt, Queenie
and Tina along with a Muggle and a Professor at Vogel's speech. That had shaken Flora to the core
as she had not expected any of this to have happened at all. Did she agree with what the Dark
Wizard was saying? To an extent yes… but she also didn't want anyone to get hurt. She stared out
over the mountains and shivered violently, head hurting from the cold, wanting to move but not
wanting to mix with everyone else in the Castle.

She was completely lost in her thoughts when she felt a blanket being laid over her shoulders and
the weight shift on the bench.

"He's not happy with you. In fact he's had everyone searching for you," came Vinda's voice
through the icy wind swirling around them. Flora shivered again and Vinda wrapped an arm
around the witch, having assumed the role of mother to the young 27-year-old witch, despite not
being much older. Flora felt the older witch turn, "tell him we'll be inside soon and I will take her
straight to her room to get her warmed up," she said before coaxing Flora to her feet and back
inside the Castle.

The two had nearly reached the stairs when an arm grabbed Flora's arm.

"You had me worried Flora," Grindelwald said as he looked at her before gently lifting the witch's
head up to look at her.

"I just needed to breathe for a few minutes. The news from the speech shook me up. I knew there
was a possibility of Queenie but Tina…?" she said shivering again, "I'm sorry that I worried you
Gellert. You know that I wouldn't leave you. I'm not going to abandon you if that's what you're
worried about," she said before giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek and resting her cold hand on
his cheek, causing a deep sigh to exit his mouth as he relaxed.

"Get her warmed up and then come and find me. Both of you. We have a dinner to attend
tomorrow," he said and Vinda nodded before leading Flora upstairs, trusting her, yet not at the
same time.

Berlin:

"He has Flora still but she wasn't with his group when they crashed the Ministry of Magic," Tina
said, "is she even still with him? If not then where is she?"

"She's still with him. It was clear that she should have been there with his supporters that were
there. S…Sources in the British Ministry of Magic say that Flora and that Rosier woman are his
most trusted associates," Newt said before seeing Tina's raised eyebrow, "Theseus and I do talk.
Flora was seen with Rosier and your sister was with him and mouthed sorry when they came and
took the Qilin away," he said.
"Flora's almost like his pet in a way," Queenie said as she looked at her sister and the others, "she's
he most prized person because of who she is. We never cared about her at school. She was on her
own a lot."

"She was… unless you two were together," Lally said from over by the window causing Tina and
Queenie to look at her, "then I was with her and doing what you two should have been. You two
failed her and you know it deep down. She would not betray her family and friends unless she was
being given something that she doesn't have currently," she said, "you two have a lot of making up
to do with her when we get her back or I will be taking her home with me," she said giving them a
telling off.

"You think it's because of the way we were with her? Lally you should have told me," Tina said,
"she's my sister… I…I could have spoken to her, tried to fix things but I didn't know."

"Once we get her back fix things and I'll have her stay at mine. We'll get her back Tina. I won't let
my best friend down," Lally said before looking back out of the window.

Nurmengard Castle:

Flora was sat in the bath and reading a book as she warmed herself up. She knew that Grindelwald
was drawn to her but she knew that he'd been in love with Dumbledore so it was confusing for her
as she truly had no idea why he was drawn to her. She sighed knowing that she was expected to
join Vinda and Grindelwald soon so she rose from the bath and dressed before heading towards the
room she suspected the two were in.

"You're a free man now…" Vinda's words hit Flora's ears and she stood in the shadows as she
listened to the two speaking, "they're shouting your name in the streets."

"We will be leaving in the morning after our visitor has arrived," Grindelwald said before he
glanced over and Flora froze as she knew exactly where the Dark Wizard was looking, "Flora…
Stop hiding in the shadows," he said, "come to me," he added and Flora walked over to the two of
them. She looked nervous before Vinda wrapped an arm around the witch and looked at her.

"Flora…? What is it?" she asked and Grindelwald looked at her for the first time… properly for the
first time in days and he saw into her mind.

"Yes. I did love him. Remember as you can see into my mind I can see into yours," the Dark
Wizard said as he looked at her and Flora stepped back, terrified the Wizard would see her fears
about the dinner the next night.

"Gellert… out of my head now…" she said, her eyes wide with fear that he would discover her
thoughts. She went to move but backed into Vinda and squeaked. The witch wrapped her arm
around the witch as she knew Flora was scared about something.

"You're nervous about the dinner tomorrow… about facing your sisters as it is likely they will be
there," Grindelwald said as he looked in Flora's eyes, "you have no need to be flower," he said
softly as Vinda pushed her closer to their leader, "I promised you that Vinda and I would keep you
safe and that we will," he said before stroking the witch's cheek as he felt her relax at his touch,
much to his relief as he wrapped his arm around her and, in a rare display of affection, he kissed
the witch's head.

"Am I missing something?" Vinda asked as she looked confused between the two, "I trust you
would tell me if anything was going on here," she said as she looked more at Grindelwald sensing
that he wasn't telling her something.
"I will come and see you in a few minutes Flora," Grindelwald said before Flora nodded and
headed off to her room. She walked inside and closed the door and grabbed her book, sitting down
in her chair by the fire and beginning to read.

"Well?" Vinda asked as she raised an eyebrow and stood watching the Dark Wizard, "you are so
protective of her and won't let anyone except me near her…"

"Nobody is to touch her except for you and I," Grindelwald said, "there are things that I am trying
to work through surrounding Flora," he said as he looked at his most trusted associate, "that is an
order."

"There is something else Gellert. Do not lie to me. I can go and ask Flora if you won't tell me…"

"Leave her. She doesn't know how I feel about her or the prophecy about us," Grindelwald said as
he looked at the French woman.

"What do you mean? There is a reason you told me to snatch her in Paris?" Vinda asked and
looked at Grindelwald, "You need to start telling me things or I cannot do my best for Flora…"

"Let's head to my study and I will tell you what I know…"

Truths are revealed and a sister feels guilt

Chapter Notes

Hey everyone!
I'm not even going to apologise for how long between updates. Real life just... bit bad
in October and I barely had time to breathe. Anyway guess who decided to do
NaNoWriMo and is actually writing again? That's right. Me. I'm also entering some
calmer months for the winter so I doubt I'll hit the 50k monthly total but I'm writing
again and starting to write every day again. I really hope to get back to some sort of
normal pattern with updates and I'm hoping that this month will help me.
Thanks for sticking with me.

Sisters Divided – Part 2:

Grindelwald closed the door to his study and watched as Vinda stood there watching him. He was
aware she was waiting for him to explain himself as he thought about whether to tell Vinda
everything he knew or keep some close to his chest.

"Gellert… start explaining now," came Vinda's voice, "I cannot and will not help protect Flora if
you do not start speaking to me."

"Yes. There is a reason why I asked you to snatch Flora in Paris," the Dark Wizard said as he
looked at Vinda, "there is a prophecy about a witch and myself…"

"You do not know if it Flora do you?"

"I cannot explain how I know but I just do. I knew it the moment I first set eyes on her when she
followed us in Paris," Grindelwald said, "that's the true reason why I asked you to snatch her… as
for the rest I'm not sure on yet but she is crucial to the events that are going to play out. I'm sure of
it."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Vinda asked. She couldn't make out what her leader was saying
as he looked at her. He seemed nervous about something but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
She studied him before looking away. "Sorry… I just do not understand any of this."

"Neither do I Vinda. If I did then I would have told you everything that I understand. Once I know
more then I will tell you what I know. Flora has a role to play in the upcoming war for us or them
and I have no idea which way that is until I know which it is. All I know is I only want you and I
around her."
"Do you trust that she will not try and escape?" Vinda asked and the Dark Wizard nodded,

"Yes I do. She knows what will happen if she doesn't stay and I would just go after her."

"Do you love her?" Vinda asked, wanting to know as the questions had been lingering on her mind
as she had been thinking about Flora and what their leader had said or dropped hints about.

"I don't know. That's one thing I am still trying to figure out. There is a lot I must figure out and
there is so little time," Grindelwald said as he looked out of the window and down at Credence.

Berlin:

"Lally…" Tina said, "why did you keep Flora's loneliness to yourself?" she asked, needing to know
what was going on with her sister.

"You blamed a 3-year-old girl… your sister… for something that she couldn't help," Lally said,
almost sounding angry at her best friend, "she needed you as much as Queenie did and yet you cast
her aside."

"Am I missing something?" Jacob asked, causing Newt and Bunty to look at Lally.

"When Tina was seven-years-old, Queenie was five and Flora was three Flora caught Dragon Pox.
Her parents nursed her back to health at the cost of their own lives. Their mother, Esther,
succumbed first and days later their father, David, did. The girls' aunt looked in on them but Tina
grew up fast and looked after Queenie… Flora was more of an afterthought a lot of the time. Time
moved on and Tina and then Queenie started at Ilvermony…"

"We never saw Flora after that until she started at Ilvermony," Tina said as she looked at Lally,
"she just vanished."

"Because I heard you two talking about her and got a message home. She came to stay with my
parents. Yes Tina…" she said seeing the look on her best friend's face, "it was me who saved your
sister. You never asked where she was."

"I was still so angry at her for our parents' deaths…" Tina said, "she… she was the reason they
died," she said as she looked at Lally, "that's why she was so close to you and you never let her be
alone…"

Lally nodded,

"It is and I can see you regret everything now. You directed your anger at the wrong person and
now she's trapped on the wrong side of the war. We will get her back and you can right the
wrongs."

Nurmengard Castle:

"Why does the bird come to him?" Vinda asked as she stopped beside her leader.

"Because it knows what he has to do," Grindelwald said, not taking his eyes off Credence and his
phoenix.

"And you think he can kill Dumbledore?" the witch questioned.

"His pain is his power. Watch over her, be the mother she never had," Grindelwald said as he
looked at Vinda before looking out the window and seeing that Credence had vanished.
Credence, in fact, had noticed how Flora was so protected from everyone by Grindelwald and
Rosier and he wanted to know why. He had headed to Flora's room, walking in without even
knocking.

"Credence… what are you doing here? You shouldn't be in here," Flora said as she reached for her
wand.

"Why does he favour you so much over everyone except Rosier?" Credence asked, "you are not a
Dark Witch at all. You shine brighter than most here," he said before Flora silently threw up a
shield, not liking the way Credence was speaking to her. It made her feel uneasy.

"I have no idea why that is," Flora said as she watched Credence, "I was snatched and brought here
and that is the only answer that I can give you," she said as her eyes remained trained on Credence,
not trusting him at all.

"You were snatched?" Credence asked as he watched her, "well that is something I was not
expecting. Was it Rosier? In the chaos at the rally?" he asked as he'd only seen her when Rosier
had brought her from the rally.

Flora watched him before she nodded as she stood up,

"Yes. It was that night," she said, "I didn't know what had happened until I woke up here," she said,
"it was only then did I learn where I was," she said before finding a wand being pointed at her.

Instantly she was on her feet and pointing her wand at Credence,

"You hurt me and you will never be forgiven…" she said before her eyes widened as Credence had
a wand pointing at his neck.

"I wouldn't do that if I was you. Grindelwald will not be happy," came Vinda's voice and Flora
watched on as Credence kept his eyes on her.

"I will be back to have my questions answered," he said before walking out of Flora's room. He
glanced at her from the door before walking off.

Vinda tried to walk over but hit the shield,

"Impressive," she said before Flora lowered it and Vinda walked over to her, "did he do anything?"

"No he'd been about to when you walked in," Flora said as she felt a soft hand checking her face
over, "I got the shield charm up without him realising that I'd got one up. He doesn't like me," she
said as she looked at the older witch.

"Gellert will find out about this. Everyone knows the rules…" she said before softly kissing Flora's
head softly and walked out.

Berlin:

Dumbledore had now arrived and everyone was gathered around the professor.

"Have you got answers Albus?" Newt asked as he looked at the wizard.

"Why's he taken our sister?" Tina asked, "is there any hope of getting her back?"

"I have some answers Newt and Auror Goldstein…? I would like to say yes but I don't know," he
said with a sigh.
"What do you mean?" Queenie asked.

"From what I am able to understand there is a prophecy involving Grindelwald and a witch. That
witch is on neither side but could change things for the better or worse for one side…"

"Flora's on our side though… isn't she?" Lally said.

"She never openly said," Tina said quietly before looking at Dumbledore, "you think it's Flora
don't you?" Dumbledore nodded,

"Yes. Yes I do…"

Sisters Divided – Part 3:

Tine just stared at the Professor as she tried to process his words and she bit her lip standing
awkwardly at Queenie's side. Her eyes looked at Lally and it was hard to read her mind as her best
friend had a neutral expression on her face.

"Do you think they knew about it? Grindelwald and Rosier? I can't imagine they did…" Tina asked
as she looked at her sister, not surprised to see the same look of worry she wore.

"It is possible that they did know and that would explain why she was taken in the first place,"
Dumbledore said as he looked at Tina, "if they do know they could try and force her onto their
side… or they will keep her until she makes up her mind what she wishes to do."

"But her not having a side is why she was taken?" Queenie asked.

"No Queenie," Lally said, "she was taken because Grindelwald believes that Flora is the witch the
prophecy is talking about. The fact that she doesn't have a side only adds fuel to the fire as she
could be forced to go either way and that will not help her at all. All it does is make her position
worse in a way."

"What in Merlin's name have I done? This is all my fault because of what happened when we were
younger," Tina asked as she looked at nobody in particular, "she was snatched and it wasn't her
choice and who knows how they are treating her now? She surely cannot be safe with them, can
she?"

"Gellert will keep her close and alive until he knows if she is the witch the prophecy is
referencing," Dumbledore said, "if there is more at work and he does care about her then she'll be
safe no matter what happens. The risk will come when we get her back because he will come after
her, especially if he discovers who the prophecy is talking about."

Tina began to pace the room and nibbled at her nails, much to Queenie's annoyance, as the truth
began to sink in. Her sister could be at the centre of the war against Grindelwald and she was
currently stuck on the wrong side of the war. Tina felt helpless. Despite her feelings about her
youngest sister, Flora being trapped with Grindelwald was not helping her at all and she couldn't
take a shred of comfort from that at all. She sighed and twiddled her necklace around her finger.

Lally could sense that Tina was a swirling cloud of emotions and she walked up to her best friend
and rested her hands on Tina's upper arm.

"We will get her back Tina. I don't know how but we will," she said as she rubbed her friend's arm,
"what Flora would not want is you to feel guilty about what has happened to her. Nobody knew
that she was going to get snatched like she did and that is the end of it. Now we have to get her
back and remember that Grindelwald can predict our future moves."

"How will we defeat him then?" Jacob asked, reminding everyone that he was still there.

"Confusion," Karma said.

"Sorry… what? How do you confuse a guy who can see the future?" Jacob asked.

"Countersight," Karma spoke.

"Exactly. The best plan being no plan," Newt added.

"Or many overlapping plans," Lally continued.

"Thus confusion," Newt finished with a cheeky smile.

"It's working on me now," Jacob said.

"Luckily you all have everything you need," Dumbledore said, "once Karma is in Nurmengard he
will be able to check on Flora and keep an eye on her. A spy in the midst."

"I will lose any memories of Leta for a while," Karma said, "but I will have them back when this is
all over and I can come back to you all."

"Karma…" Tina started but stopped.

"It all makes sense and he will be able to keep an eye on Flora," Theseus said as he'd been silent for
the longest time, "Grindelwald will use Flora to test him and, of course, she knows what happened
to Leta after Grindelwald sent her to Nurmengard with Rosier. She isn't going to tell Grindelwald
the truth even though she will be able to read his mind as she will hopefully understand his
thoughts as well."

Tina nodded. She wasn't happy bit needed someone to keep an eye on Flora and Dumbledore knew
what he was doing… didn't he?

Nurmengard Castle:

Vinda had left Flora's room and instantly headed for Credence's where he'd retreated to after his
altercation with Flora.
"You need to stay away from Flora unless you wish something terrible to happen to you," she
warned Credence.

"Why is she so special? Why is he wanting nobody to go near her expect him and you? Why is
that?" Credence asked as he looked at her and waited for a reaction and she smirked at him.

"Do you not like someone having more attention then you?" she asked with a smirk as she crossed
her arms, wand in her hand, "Grindelwald's orders are to be followed and if they aren't then I
would not like to be in your shoes if anything happens to Flora at your hands. I am the only other
person allowed to care for her. You have something in common with her. Her mother died when
she was young and you never had a proper mother."

"Why are you telling me this?" Credence asked.

"It is a warning… that Flora holds the key to this War and if she is hurt Grindelwald gets angry and
who knows what he will do…" Vinda warned, "nobody is allowed near her except Grindelwald
and myself," she said as she held her wand in her hand.

"I will find out and then you all will be sorry. I'm the one who can take down Albus Dumbledore,
not her. I'm the special one," Credence said as he looked at Vinda.

"You can take down Albus Dumbledore but you are not the special one as you wish to say," she
said before watching him, "stay away or you'll get hurt," she warned before leaving Credence's
room and heading to her own.

Flora was curled up in a chair by the window with a book, half reading and half watching the snow
falling outside. She'd seen snow before, of course, but not like this. Her peaceful bliss was
shattered as the fireplace suddenly sprang to life and soon a warm and comforting glow appeared.
She jumped to her feet, the book falling to the floor and she turned, finding herself face-to-face
with Grindelwald.

"Gellert," she said as she watched him, wondering what he was doing in her room.

"Are you fine? Did he hurt you?" he asked as he crossed the room to check her over. His hand
cupped her face and he looked into her eyes and checked her over.

"Vinda already did the checking over. I am fine, a bit shaken but unharmed," Flora said as she
looked at him and sighed softly, "I think that he doesn't like me because you and Vinda pay me so
much attention and won't let anyone near me," she said before sighing as she picked up her book,
placed her stars and moon bookmark in the book and put it on the chair.

Grindelwald stroked her cheek gently and she shuddered at his touch as their eyes connected. She
couldn't understand why he had an affect in her as she stared into his eyes. They held a power that
others couldn't see clearly. She had a thousand questions and, yet, her voice was not there. She
couldn't speak; it felt like she wasn't breathing at times. She just couldn't understand.

"All you need to know is you are safe here as long as Vinda and I are around," Grindelwald said as
he looked at her and he kissed her forehead, "now… get some sleep as it will be a busy day
tomorrow," he said before leaving and closing her door.

Flora sighed as she resumed her spot by the window and stared out watching the snow falling into
the courtyard light. She thought of Tina and Queenie and how they must be regretting not
treasuring the time they had together. She began to get lost in her thoughts and sighed softly. She
wondered why the Dark Wizard appeared to want to protect her. There clearly was a reason and she
wanted to know and yet, at the same time, the thought of knowing terrified her.

Sisters Divided – Part 4:

Nurmengard Castle:

"Flora… Flora…" Vinda whispered as she gently shook Flora, not really wanting to wake the witch
but something had required her to be present. Flora had, oddly to her, become like a sister or even
daughter who Vinda needed to keep safe. She watched as the witch began to wake and Vinda
wondered what had caused the slightly younger witch to sleep in so late. She knew Grindelwald
had been to see her but knew that he hadn't been too long making sure she was OK. So she was
wondering what had kept Flora awake.

She had been so lost in her thoughts that she almost missed Flora beginning to wake up. She
watched as Flora rubbed her eyes and sat up.

"Vinda… what's going on?" she asked as she looked at her.

"Sorry for waking you but you've been summoned. We have a visitor and Gellert has asked for you
to go to him," she explained before Flora jumped out of bed and soon had a wand pointed at her as
the French witch switched her bed clothes for her normal clothes and she watched as her light
brown hair was French braided before her hand was grabbed and the two rushed from the room to
the front door of the Castle.

"My name is Karma, Yousef Karma," Flora heard and she managed to suppress her reaction so
nobody would be able to read her mind, least of all Grindelwald. She didn't even know if he knew
about her being a Legillimens or not.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and saw that Vinda had her wand stretched out in front of her…
right at Karma.
"You killed his sister, Leta… Leta Lestrange," Vinda said as she looked at Karma and then at
Grindelwald.

"Dumbledore sent you… am I right?" Grindelwald asked.

"He fears you are in possession of a creature. He fears the use you may put it to. He sent me here to
spy on you. What would you like me to tell him?" Karma replied.

"Flora!" Grindelwald called, making her jump. How had he known that she was there? "Is he
telling the truth?"

"What…? How do you know I'm a…?" she asked.

"Just tell me is he telling the truth?" Grindelwald asked.

Flora looked at Karma and he appeared to be sending a message as their eyes connected.

"Yes. Yes he is," she replied.

"What else?"

"Even though he believes in you, he holds you responsible for his sister's death. He carries her
absence with him every day. Every breath he takes is a reminder that she breathes no mor," Flora
said after a few moments of silence.

"Then I think the best thing to do would be to relieve you of your memories," Grindelwald spoke as
he pressed his wand to the wizard's temple before noticing a nod. It didn't take long for a silvery
strand to break into dust mid-air. "That must be better," a nod was the response, "I thought so.
When we allow ourselves to be consumed by anger, the only victim is ourself. Now. We were just
about to depart. Perhaps you'd like to join us? Come, we can talk some more about our mutual
friend, Dumbledore," he said before leading Karma inside.

Karma looked vacantly at Flora but she could see that there was some plot at play and it felt like
Karma was there to keep an eye on her but a spy sent from Dumbledore as well.

"We need to get you ready for the Candidates' Dinner," Vinda said as she and Flora were the last
two to enter the Castle."

"I don't really want to go," Flora said as she twiddled her thumbs and looked at the older witch, "I
don't want to face my sisters. I know they'll try something to rescue me," she said before Vinda
rested a hand on Flora's shoulder.

"Gellert and I will not let anything happen to you… although if anyone asks you're Flora Rosier.
We have to protect your identity somehow or else there will be moves to try and take you."

Flora just remained silent and headed towards her room with Vinda, hoping that nothing would
happen and upstage Grindelwald.

Berlin:

"Now…" Dumbledore began, "Lally and Jacob will focus on preventing the assassination attempt
that will happen tonight whilst Theseus, Newt and Tina will, hopefully, be undercover and
gathering any intelligence on Flora that they can that, in time, may help us free her from whatever
she is trapped in," he said, "also we need to see if she's hurt in any way."
"That's everyone but me. That's not fair," Queenie said before Tina walked over to her, "we need
someone here and keeping an eye on things to make sure this place doesn't get discovered. We lose
this place and we cannot stay and hunt them all down in Berlin," she said as she tried to sooth her
sister.

Queenie could be very stubborn in her own right but she sighed and uncrossed her arms and
nodded,

"OK fine. I'll stay here," she said eventually, much to everyone's relief, "we need to try and stay
one step ahead of Grindelwald as best as we can. I can hold them off," she said before Dumbledore
spoke again.

"We cannot rescue Flora tonight but we can check on her and make sure that she is OK and
unharmed."

"Once we know the situation with Flora we can regroup and come up with a plan to save her,"
Lally said as she looked at the sisters.

"Lally… I'd rather try and rescue her tonight. It would be easy to snatch her back whilst there are a
lot of people there," Tina said, "I want her back here with us tonight."

"We go in there without a plan and we may well never see her again," Lally said as she watched
the sisters, "Grindelwald will keep her even closer and maybe not let her out of his sight. We will
have no chance then," she added before Tina sighed and nodded. "Theseus…" she said turning to
the Auror, "I'm trusting you to keep Tina in line."

"Consider it done," Theseus said as he side-eyed his brother.

Nurmengard Castle:

Flora was now on her own as Vinda had gone to get ready. She'd been able to decide on her dresses
and things that she wore now Grindelwald trusted that she was not going to run away any more.
She sighed as she finished putting her makeup on as Vinda had already done her hair for her. She
hated to admit that she liked the way her hair hand been done. She stepped into her golden shoes
and then into her baby pink dress with a gold sash and stood in front of her mirror. She realised that
she couldn't do the zip up before she looked in the mirror as someone did her zip up.

"Karma? What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Why didn't you say the truth?" Karma asked in reply.

"Because I can read your mind," she said as she looked at him, "I know exactly why you're here
and it's best he doesn't know that so you stay alive."

"I'm here to check on you and a spy for Dumbledore, so you were half right," Karma said with a
nod before he finished zipping up her dress suddenly.

"Is everything alright here?" came Grindelwald's voice and Flora stiffened as she heard his voice.

"I was just helping Flora with her zip," Karma said before stepping back and stepping back so Flora
could turn and face Grindelwald and Rosier.

"He was. I was struggling and he was heading to join the others and saw me struggling to do it up
so he helped me," Flora said before Vinda walked over to her and put some pale pink lipstick onto
the young witch's lip.
"You can go," the French witch said to Karma and the wizard nodded and left the room, "was he
just helping with the zip?"

"Yes he was," Flora said as she watched Vinda's eyes and found a gentle kiss being placed on her
head.

"I think that it is time to go. Vinda I trust you to get Flora there and I'll meet you at the car,"
Grindelwald said before Vinda grabbed a nice coat for Flora before the two headed outside and
apparated away to the meeting point in Berlin.

"Whatever happens stay with me," Vinda said as she steadied Flora after they landed, "I will keep
you safe," she said and Flora felt sick with nerves so all she could do was nod.

Chapter Summary

Everyone meets each other in Berlin, testing Tina and Flora's nerves.

Chapter Notes

Hey everyone!
I have no idea where January went. Between the news about my Nan and some other
stuff these updates took a while to write. I am feeling more confident about being able
to write more. Writing sprints ftw on this one. I'm enjoying figuring things out and am
being able to add extra things to my chapters. I really hope to get better at updating
again and am going to try and update again at the end of the month... so we shall see
how that goes.

Sisters Divided – Part 5:

Berlin:

The nerves that Flora had contained inside her were enough to put her off food and drink for a
week it felt like. She knew there was every chance of coming face-to-face with at least one of her
sisters at the Candidates' Dinner. Luckily there only appeared to be supporters of the candidates
there and, for a moment, Flora felt like blending in with them to see if she could escape for a while.
She was fine where she was but she was also suffocating at times and couldn't help but wonder
what Grindelwald's plans were with her.

She was stood by Vinda until she felt a hand on her arm and turned to see Grindelwald smiling at
her. He appeared to be surveying the scene before him as he heard a horn beeping and turned to see
his car.

"Our chariot awaits ladies," he said before getting in and Flora and Vinda did the same, any hope of
a few minutes of respite evaporating with it.

Newt, Tina, Theseus, Lally and Jacob walked through the magic doorway from the non-magical
Berlin to the magical Berlin.

"OK so Newt has speak out Vogler and deliver Dumbledore's message," Theseus started, "There is
still time for Vogler to change his mind. Myself and Tina will be looking out for Flora to get an
idea of how things are with her and…"

"Jacob and I will be trying to prevent an assassination," Lally said as she repeated what
Dumbledore had told her and Jacob."
"He will have a plan though won't he?" Jacob asked, "Dumbledore I mean…"

"He is the only one who probably knows that plan whilst we are trying to confused Grindelwald,"
Tina said, a hint of nerves clearly in her voice.

"We will get her back eventually," Lally said as she squeezed her best friend's hand as they moved
forwards, skirting the outside of the crowd, splitting into their smaller groups. Arriving in a group
would only draw attention and Newt, Theseus and Tina were all known in Berlin as well as
anywhere else it seemed.

In the car coming through the gathered crowds were Grindelwald, Vinda and Flora. Flora could
hear the Grindelwald supporters cheering him through the slightly opened window.

"Take us around back, it's not safe here," Vinda said before Grindelwald shushed her and told the
driver to carry on. She sat back and watched as he opened the window a little more and listened to
his supporters cheering his name. He appeared to be lapping up the peoples' cheers as he sat back
against his seat. Flora tries to block out the noises as the noise was rather deafening.

It all happened to fast and Grindelwald lifted the lock on his door, which was soon opened, and he
was pulled from the car by his supporters.

"No!" Vinda said as she made to grab Grindelwald.

"Look after Flora," he managed to say before he was carried away by his supporters.

"Look after Flora as always," Vinda whispered under her breath before waving her wand and the
door snapped shut and locked.

"I don't need looking after," Flora said with a roll of her eyes, "I can look after myself."

"We both know that Gellert will hunt me down so fast I could be dead in seconds," Vinda said as
she looked at Flora, "you do not know what your destiny is and that is the way it will remain. Now,
chauffeur, here will be fine," she said and the driver stopped the car and Vinda gripped Flora's arm
tightly as they exited the car and joined the crowds to meet the others inside.

Inside the German Ministry of Magic and Newt, Theseus, Tina, Jacob and Lally were mingling and
finding out who was where. Tina was already driving Theseus crazy as she was on edge, no doubt
on the lookout for her sister.

"Calm down Tina. She'll be here. If Dumbledore is correct she'll be close to Rosier or Grindelwald
himself," Theseus whispered before grabbing a glass of wine, "get that down you and stay calm.
Your sister could be in danger and we don't know it." Tina had a gulp of wine before looking to see
where Jacob and Lally were. There were two main goals and they had to succeed if they were
going to have any chance of getting a few steps ahead of Grindelwald.

Heads turned as the music stopped and everyone turned to see Grindelwald and his group stood at
the top of the stairs. Tina's glass slipped from her hand as she saw a figure stood just behind
Grindelwald and close to Rosier. Flora.

Seeing that he had the attention of the crowd, Grindelwald smirked before he turned to whisper
something to Vinda with a side glance at Flora. He looked to see that the youngest Goldstein had
spotted her oldest sister and he simply turned to face the front before realising the music wasn't
playing and he turned sharply and the music started again as he led the group down the stairs.

Flora almost stumbled as she walked past her sister, causing Vinda to reach quickly and grab her
hand.

"You're fine. You're safe," she whispered as the group came to a stop. Flora's eyes glanced around
and widened as she caught sight of Lally and Jacob.

"Madam Santos," Grindelwald spoke, "A pleasure. I wish you luck. Your supporters are in fine
voice."

"As are yours Mr. Grindelwald," came the reply.

"I hear yours as well Mr. Liu and I also wish you luck in the election," Grindelwald said, nodding
at Liu Tao.

"Thank you," came the reply before Flora felt eyes on her and looked up to find herself staring at
Vicência Santos.

"I see there is a kidnapping victim here with us tonight," Santos spoke, "is that witch just behind
you the missing Flora Goldstein?" she asked, "she has been missing since the well publicised
events in Paris. Now here is a witch matching her description surrounded by your supporters. I feel
you know what I am speaking about Mr. Grindelwald."

"I do not have any idea what you are you speaking about Madam Santos. The Flora here is a
relative of Rosier's here who has joined us as a supporter," Grindelwald replied.

"You will forgive me if I do not believe that Grindelwald. Tell me…" Santos said as she looked at
Flora, "who are you?"

Chapter Summary

Assassination attempts, messages and, of course, a little incident to top it all off.

Chapter Notes

Hey everyone!
Better late than never, right? I'd meant to update last week but, as usual, life likes to
keep throwing things at me and I forgot about updating. I'm surviving and slowly
starting to get back into things again. I'm starting to remember why I love writing. I'm
feeling closer to being able to update twice a month then I have done for a fair few
months so that is something.
Thanks for sticking with me.

Sisters Divided – Part 6:

"You must be mistaken Madam Santos," Flora said, "I'm Flora Rosier, Vinda's sister… a less well
known one," she said before managing to make eye contact with Tina and, somehow, Tina knew
what Flora was saying and just nodded softly.

"Well you look so alike her I would have said you were her," Santos said as she nodded, "my
apologise Miss Rosier."

Vinda looked at Flora before leading her away as they went to their table. Grindelwald soon
followed and sat down next to Rosier. He looked over at Flora and watched her as she caught sight
of Lally. The two looked at each other before Flora grabbed the nearest glass of wine and downed
half of it in one go.

"Flora… you did well. Relax and enjoy yourself tonight. You look beautiful. Vinda did a good job
with your hair as well," Grindelwald said as he looked from Flora to Vinda, "I hope I will see this
side of you more often."

Flora found herself blushing as she heard the Dark Wizard's words and she wondered what was
going to happen. Of course she had no idea of the assassination attempt that would be happening
during the evening. She was just glancing around and soon sighted everyone who had been sent
there by Dumbledore. She was unsure why they were all there and hoped that it wasn't going to be
an attempt to save her because that wasn't going to help anyone and she had the horrible feeling
that someone would get hurt.

Her eyes drifted around to see what was going on and that only set her more on edge… to the point
where she could barely touch her food. In fact it almost felt like she was unaware her food was in
front of her. Grindelwald and Rosier knew that the event had set Flora's nerves off and they would
make sure she ate something when they returned to the Castle. It was impossible to try and get
something into Flora when she was a bag of nerves.

Lally, meanwhile, had been watching everyone in the one and finally had settled on a waiter who
had a very shifty look about him and he was in charge of the beverages for the top table where both
Santos and Liu Tao were sat. She wasn't sure what had drawn him to her but she really didn't like
him.

"Excuse me Jacob," Lally said as she rose from her seat as she saw the drink in front of Santos. She
made her way through people and knocked into a waiter but used her wand to make sure that
nothing shattered on the floor.

Having almost reached the top table she found a couple of tough wizards in front of her. She
watched as Santos went to drink the wine. Wish a subtle flick of her wand she sent the wine
towards the door where it hit and burned a hole in the door.

Lally made to move back to her seat before turning around as she saw Tina on her feet, eyes firmly
on Flora. She sincerely hoped that Tina was not going to make an attempt to get Flora back. She sat
down next to Jacob again and carried on eating.

Tina looked at her sister before walking over to her and pulled her wand out and pointed it at
Grindelwald.

"Release my sister now and let her come back to her to her sisters," she said as she kept her wand
pointed at Grindelwald and he didn't react at all.

"She's had plenty of time to leave me and she has known that this whole time," Grineldwald said
with a shrug of his shoulders and a look at Rosier, who just looked back at him.

Flora shook her head at Tina and could only watch on in horror as Theseus made a grab for Tina
but was stunned in the process. Tina's wand arm lowered faster than she'd ever lowered it before as
she watched Theseus being taken away.

Lally looked around and watched before realising what was happening.

"Grindelwald has the Ministry…"

"What did you say Lally?" Jacob asked.

"Grindelwald has the German Ministry of Magic. We need to leave… now!" Lally replied as Tina
rushed back over stunned.

"They have the Ministry," Lally told Tina, "that's why that he's not worried about anything," she
said before Tina's eyes widened as realised that's why everyone had all but turned a blind eye
despite the fact that Flora was clearly the missing Goldstein sister was clearly with them.

Grindelwald and his group were stood up and getting ready to leave when Jacob pointed his wand
at the back of Flora's neck. She turned around and pulled out her wand to come face-to-face with
Jacob.

"Tell them I'm safe Jacob. Nobody will hurt me," Flora said, realising this was possibly her only
chance to get a direct message to her sisters.

"How do you know?" Jacob asked.

"I just know. Please just tell them the message and I'll find a way to contact them soon," she said
and Jacob nodded.

"I will tell them. This is a…"

"Fake wand. I'm careful to keep the pretending going," Flora said.

Lally knew they had to get out of there and flicked her wand to send Jacob's 'wand' arm into the
sky and caused a storm to appear. Jacob quickly moved and headed over to Lally as she prepared
her book to get herself, Tina and Jacob out of the way.

Someone had decided in that moment that they would try and grab Jacob. Lally flicked her wand
once more to send crockery and cutlery flying through the air so Jacobs could get to them.

Flora had been making her way through the chaos with Rosier when something struck her and tore
her away from Vinda and rendered her unconscious.

"FLORA!" Tina shouted as Lally grabbed her before Grindelwald rushed to Flora's side, Rosier
following soon behind.

"Get her out of here. Get her to her room. You know what to do," he said and Vinda nodded before
she took Flora in her arms and apparated away leaving Tina struck with horror as her sister
vanished from sight.

Sisters Divided – Part 7:

Dumbledore's Hideout:

Dumbledore stood up as he heard the sounds of feet landing, wand raised, soon lowering it as he
saw Lally, Tina and Jacob stood in front of him. Newt poked his head out of the case and Queenie
appeared behind him before rushing to Jacob's side to check him over.

"Where's Theseus? "Newt asked as he couldn't see his brother at all.

"Newt you might want to come here," Lally said and the group split, "we aren't sure how but
Grindelwald has control of the German Ministry of Magic. Theseus was arrested and taken away
by some of Grindelwald's men."

"Flora?" Dumbledore asked as he looked at Lally, "unharmed to the most point. There was a bit of
an accident when we were leaving. Nothing long lasting. There was clearly a lot of ignoring the
fact that Flora is the missing Goldstein sister as well. I had to cause a distraction so I could get me,
Tina and Jacob out and Flora got hurt… she'll be OK though."

"You spoke to her. I saw the two of you with your wands pointing at each other," Tina said as she
and Queenie sat with Jacob.

"She said to tell you that she is safe and will not be harmed. I asked her how she knew and she just
said she knew. She wanted me to tell you that," Jacob said, "that and she will find a way to contact
you soon when she finds out a safe way to do that."

Tina sighed and Queenie looked at her.

"I almost grabbed her. I almost grabbed her and ran with her. Theseus stopped me and that led to
him being taken away," she said, "Flora was scared in that moment. I do think she is trapped where
she is but she is also there of her own free will. Karma is there now and that will help her as well as
she has someone who knows her and she can talk to when she can."

"What happened?" Queenie asked, "Lally said she was hurt."

"In a distraction," Tina said, "Lally used Jacob as a distraction by causing a storm to come. There
was a commotion and crockery went flying and something hit Flora and I saw Rosier Apparating
her away unconscious. I don't think it was meant to happen and I hope that Flora will be OK. I get
the feeling that she is needed for something. She said she's safe and I believe her. She looked fine
but she should be here."

Nurmengard Castle:

Rosier landed in the small courtyard with Flora and rushed inside with her and hurried to Flora's
room, laying her down on the bed and called for a medical kit to be brought to her.

"Oh Flora girl," Vinda whispered as she breathed the name that she had for Flora that she didn't use
in front of anyone, "you got hit bad there. Gellert will kill me if something else happens to you,"
she said as she tended the cut on Flora's head. There were a couple of grazes and a deep cut on the
side of her face and Vinda sighed as she kissed Flora's head gently. In a way the younger witch had
become like a sister to Vinda and she'd taken a vow to protect Flora.

She bit her lip as she wondered how Grindelwald would react when he arrived back. She made sure
that Flora was cleaned up and she moved herself to a chair by the fireplace, afraid to leave Flora in
case something happened to her and she wasn't close by. That would certainly mark her card with
Grindelwald.

It was nearly midnight when Grindelwald walked into Flora's room and sat down opposite Vinda.

"How is she?" he asked.

"She will have a sore head when she wakes up but, other than that, she will be fine," Vinda replied,
"she's been asleep the whole time since she was knocked out so I will only have some idea when
she wakes up and starts speaking. What took you so long?"

"I was speaking to Lui and Santos about the supposed prophecy and then if they had any idea as to
who it could be about," Grindelwald replied, his eyes on Flora's sleeping figure. "My suspicions
are getting more and more convinced that we have the witch here and that brings me comfort that
Flora is here and can do good for us," he said softly as he looked back at Vinda, "it's Flora. I'm
certain and I do not want her to know. The only ones I wish to know are you and I," he said.

"I understand. She cannot even know what she is doing either," Vinda said, "she must remain blind
to the prophecy and she is the witch."

"You care about her," Grindelwald said with a light smile.

"So do you. I'd even go as far as to say she's captured your heart," Vinda said with a smirk.

"I do not know what you mean," Grindelwald spoke before his head turned to the bed. He rose and
sat on the edge of the bed and watched Flora as her hand went to her head.

"My head hurts," she said and Vinda hurried to get a pain potion.

"You're back at Nurmengard Flora. You're safe," Grindelwald said as he looked at Flora, helping
her to sit up, "you were knocked out by something as Vinda rushed to get you to safety," he said as
he began to check her over and he stroked her cheek gently.
Grindelwald looked into her eyes and she couldn't help but look in his and then he carried on
checking her over. Flora remained still, not even trying to move his hand away as he checked her
over. Her breath caught in her throat as she felt him touching her face again.

What neither of them had realised as Grindelwald was checking her over that a mark had appeared
on both of their hands before Flora brushed his hand away. She got up and grabbed a glass of
water, wrapping her arms around herself and went to sit by the fire, remembering back to what had
happened at the Ministry.

Sisters Divided – Part 8:

Grindlewald was worried about Flora. That was quite a knock she had taken and he had to make
sure she was OK. He knew that Vinda had done everything she could to help Flora in that moment
but it didn't help ease his fears that something could have been wrong with Flora. She was
unsteady on her feet for a couple of days afterwards and the frustration of not being able to do
anything that would tire her out was evident as she wandered around the Castle. She had spent a lot
of time in the, rather surprisingly, impressive library. It was impressive as the last thing she'd
expected to stumble on was the vast array of books in one of the upper floors of Nurmengard
Castle. She'd spent much of the past couple of days there and recovered from the knock on her
head.

She walked around the Castle, being careful not to move too fast so she didn't get dizzy. Eventually
she grew steadier on her feet. Credence was staying well away from Flora but Karma was keeping
an eye on Flora as he knew when he rejoined Dumbledore that he would have questions fired at
him from Tina and Queenie.

It was during one of these excursions that she came across something that changed her views on
why she was at the Castle.

"She will find out eventually Gellert," Rosier spoke and Flora ducked into the shadows so she
wouldn't be discovered, "she will have to be told at some point. You know she will and then we
will know how she truly feels about being here. She is under no oath to remain."

"Luckily Flora doesn't know exactly where we are, which is good but that Karma does. I do believe
he could be here as a spy but I also think he is here to check on Flora for her sisters," Grindlewald
spoke as he looked at Rosier, "because of the Prophecy I could never dream of hurting her… if she
is the witch it speaks of. She is key to our plan and, yet, she cannot know what she is doing either
and that makes it harder for me. The added complication is there is something between me and her.
I can feel it but whether she does I cannot say," he said.
Flora froze as she stood there. There was a reason she was there after all it seemed. The words
she'd heard whirled around in her head and she was unsure what to think or do. She knew she
needed answers but she also knew that she couldn't risk the tow knowing that she'd overheard
them. She might have more freedom then most but there was a chance that it could be taken away
as quickly as possible if she did something Grindlewald didn't like. She hoped that it wouldn't
come to that but she still didn't trust him either.

Flora wondered why Grindlewald and Rosier were talking about her and a prophecy and she
couldn't help but wonder if that's why she'd been taken in Paris that night. She couldn't ask without
letting on that she'd heard them when she knew that she shouldn't have heard them.

"Credence knows that Flora is treated differently to him and he doesn't like it," Rosier said, "I have
no idea why but I want him kept away from Flora. I don't trust him with her," she said.

"I will speak to him and warn him to stay away from her. When we go to Bhutan I am charging you
personally to stay with her," Grindlewald spoke as he looked at Rosier, "anything happens to her
and you will not be my right hand woman anymore."

Holding her breath, Flora listened still and her mind was racing. 'There is something between me
and her'. He had felt whatever she was feeling too. She couldn't understand what was happening.
Nothing was making sense to her and her head began to hurt again. She didn't know what to believe
anymore. Nothing was making sense to her anymore… it hadn't from the moment she'd been
snatched. Although the reason she'd been taken may have just been revealed to her and she couldn't
believe it. She made a mental note to look that up in the library when she next headed there.

She couldn't hear anyone speaking anymore and wondered what was going on before she heard
footsteps.

"Flora?" came Rosier's voice.

"I was on a walk and I heard you two talking and I didn't want to disturb you so I was waiting here
until you'd finished speaking," Flora said, not exactly lying as she had been on the way to the
library, "I didn't mean to disturb you. Sorry if I did."

"I'll leave you two alone," Rosier spoke before she squeezing Flora's shoulder and heading away
from the two. Flora looked down at the ground hoping that Grindlewald couldn't read her mind or
else he'd know she'd heard most of the conversation between himself and Rosier.

"You heard parts didn't you?" Grindlewald asked as he looked at her, "I can tell. I will sit down
with you and explain things to you as soon as I know for myself."

"You mean you don't know if it is me?" Flora asked, feeling a little braver, "you just took me
without knowing for sure," she said as she looked at the wizard.

"I have every suspicion that you are the witch in that prophecy. I just don't have the confirmation
but I will soon," Grindlewald said as he looked at Flora and into her eyes. He moved towards her
and moved his hand to cup her face and she looked into his eyes. A gasp left her lips as she was
unable to understand where this connection was coming from.

She suddenly pulled away as the connection became too strong for her and she looked at him
before hurrying away. She headed outside instantly, not even bothering with a coat as usual, before
she leant over and gasped out before a voice made her jump.

"You heard us didn't you? Gellert and I aren't mad. We know you've been wondering where you
head to," Rosier spoke before she walked over to Flora.

"Yes. The Library," Flora said, "I love reading," she said before looking at Vinda, "I'm scared…
the connection I have with Gellert, the prophecy…" she said before Vinda rushed to grab her as she
passed out overwhelmed by everything.

Sisters Divided – Part 9:

Vinda sat down with Flora and made it look as if she was just comforting the witch about
something, She ran a finger over Flora's hand and, it was in that moment, when she noticed a mark
on the younger witch's hand that she'd not seen before. It took her a few moments to remember
where she'd seem it and her eyes widened as she remembered seeing it on Gellert's hand.

Fear began to prickle her as she'd grown to love Flora as a sister and didn't want her to be the witch
the prophecy was speaking of as that was going to make her life difficult as she would have to
protect Flora even more and that was something she'd yet to come to terms with. Flora was a mix
of Tina and Queenie and Vinda knew it. She knew Flora was a Legilimens and that Grindlewald
was using that to aid him and she didn't like that but speaking up would almost certainly mean
certainty of being unable to keep an eye on Flora… something she didn't want.

She suddenly felt movement as Flora came around.

"One more of these and there won't be much I can do to hide all of this Flora," Vinda spoke as she
felt Flora pull away from her.

"It is a lot for me to take in Vinda," Flora said, "I am trying to understand what is happening here
but I can't. Nothing makes sense to me. Please don't tell Gellert. I'll be fine," she said as she looked
at Vinda.

"I care about you and I know you're torn about all of this and aren't sure what your part is," Vinda
spoke, "you're in the centre of something you never dreamt you would be and I had to snatch you
away from the world you know to a world where you don't know anyone or understand what you
are doing here…"
"That's it exactly," Flora said as she looked at Vinda, "I don't understand any of this… why do I
feel something for Gellert? He's 10 years older than me… I shouldn't be having feelings for him…
I don't understand any of this," she said before stopping as she heard footsteps.

"Flora?" came a voice she didn't want to hear at that moment in time, "is everything fine?"

"I just needed some fresh air. I was feeling a bit claustrophobic in there," Flora said. It was partly
the truth anyway so she had nothing to lose, "I forgot to grab a cloak and I felt like I couldn't
breathe and I know that passing out on the stone floors would not have done my head any good and
could make things worse. Vinda followed me out to make sure that I was fine and to get me some
water… should the need have arose," she said before looking up at Grindelwald, "You have
nothing to worry about Gellert," she added with a smile.

"That is good as Vogel will be arriving soon and then there are a few more small matters to attend
to and then we will all be going to Bhutan," Grindelwald spoke as he watched Flora getting up.

"I'd like to remain herw," she said, "there's no need for me to come and I wouldn't leave here. You
have my word."

Grindelwald turned and looked at her as she finished speaking.

"Everyone is coming, including you. Rosier will be keeping an eye on you. It has been decided," he
said, "I want all my supporters there with me when I am elected."

"I'm not a supporter of you though. I'm not even a child who needs looking after! I feel like a
trapped puppet half the time and the other time I wonder why you decided to take me in Paris!"
Flora spoke, a hint of anger lacing her voice before she went to head back inside.

Before she could take two steps she felt a strong hand grabbing and pulling her by the wrist. Fear
began to engulf her as she saw a darkness to Grindelwald she'd never seen before. It scared her as
her eyes drew to meet his and everything fading into darkness… even Vinda stood there. She'd
defy Grindelwald to protect Flora if she had to.

The Dark Wizard's eyes locked onto Flora's hand and something caught his attention… the mark
on her hand matched his… the mark, the prophecy… Flora…

His anger left him and his eyes locked onto hers. He couldn't remain angry at her but he could also
see where she was coming from. It was as if a bubble had formed around the two of them and it
was just them… alone in the world. He could feel everything Flora was feeling, every beat of her
heart… every breath she took.

Flora was swept up in a whirlpool of emotions that she couldn't understand. He'd be angry with her
and now he wasn't. There was something there and she couldn't take her eyes off him. The only
thing that mattered was them. She couldn't understand it but she was powerless to move. She could
feel everything he was as she began to get lost in his eyes. Words failed her as he couldn't take her
eyes off him, wanting to move closer but unable to move towards him.

Her breath caught in her throat before the bubble surrounding them appeared to pop as someone
approached.

"Credence…" Grindelwald spoke, causing a pain to shoot through her body before she heard
Credence speaking.

"What is happening here?" he asked, "something clearly…"

"Flora back inside. Your room or the library and I will come and find you," Grindelwald spoke as
he stroked her cheek and Flora just nodded before hurrying inside once more.

"Why am I not the special one? Since she has come you have spent all your time with her and
focussed on her…" Credence spoke after Flora had gone and he watched Grindelwald, "I am the
special one. I will take down Dumbledore for you. She won't…"

"Flora is special… special in a different way. She will do things alongside me that you know not,"
Grindelwald said.

"I should be the one you are making sure is doing as he's told…"

"Flora was abandoned by her sisters after their parents' deaths. She grew up under the care of
Seraphina Picquery. She's a lot like you Credence," Vinda said stepping forwards, "maybe you
should get to know her more. Gellert and I want her to feel safe here. I have seen the way you've
been watching her and you need to stop. There may come a day when Flora will save your life,"
she said before walking back inside with Grindelwald following behind.

Sisters Divided – Part 10:

Flora sat in the library and wondered what was happening and why it was happening. She was
drawn to Grindelwald and nothing seemed to be making sense to her. She sighed as she sat with a
book in her hand, staring at the flames dancing in the fireplace. Her thoughts turned to her sisters
and she hoped that they were OK. She wanted to see them again, and Lally. She wondered how
Lally had ended up getting involved with her sisters and Dumbledore and no doubt the Scamander
brothers. She'd seen Newt's horrified face when Theseus had been carried away from the Ministry
and Tina's look at her. She wondered if they would be in Bhutan as well. She wondered if they
would be OK and if they were fine.

She'd decided in her mind that seeing her sisters was a risk as she knew they'd try and rescue her
and put themselves in harm's way and that would have put her in an impossible situation. She had
no idea what she truly wanted to do but she was on the wrong side of the line but she was also on
the correct side all at one. She couldn't understand why she was feeling the way she was and there
was a storm of emotions swirling inside her.

She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't hear footsteps approaching.

"Flora?" came Grindelwald's voice and she jumped out of her seat and looked at him, "is
everything alright?"

"I was just thinking about my sisters," Flora said, "and whatever is going on with us," she said,
deciding to be honest with him before she looked down and bit her lip before Grindelwald tipped
her head back up and into his eyes.

"Flora there is something going on between us and I am trying to understand it just as much as you
are," he said as he pulled her close and wrapped an arm around her waist causing her to shudder,
"I'm drawn to you like a moth to a flame…"
"I'm scared…" Flora whispered, "I don't understand any of this… why you took me. Why I'm
here… Can't you tell me something Gellert?" she asked softly as she looked into his eyes before
her breath caught in her throat as she realised Grindelwald's face was inches from hers to the point
where she could feel his breath on her face.

"You are here because this is your place in the world and, as soon as I know the answers, I will tell
you myself Flora. I promise you that," Grindelwald said as he placed a kiss on Flora's forehead that
drove her crazy. She pressed against him, not knowing how much she needed the contact with him.

"Gellert… I…" Flora whispered as she found her lips inching closer to his and his moving towards
hers at the same time. They were about to connect when Rosier walked into the library.

"Vogel is here," she said before realising what she'd interrupted, "sorry…" she said as Grindelwald
moved back from Flora but his arm remained around her, not wanting to let her go.

"You are fine Rosier. Show him and Credence to the pool and Flora and I will be there in a
minute," he said and Vinda nodded before leaving the two alone again. The wizard looked at Flora
and watched her, "you are safe here Flora. That I will say. No matter what happens tomorrow I will
make sure you are safe," he said, "tonight I want to talk to you more," he said before grabbing her
hand and before Flora knew it she was beside Vinda alone.

"So you're the witch," Vogel spoke as he looked at Flora.

"Yes I am Herr Vogel," Flora spoke, "even if I do not understand a lot of things right now," she
said before feeling Vinda's arm around her as Credence had moved closer to her and that was
frowned upon.

Flora watched as Grindelwald appeared, shirt sleeves rolled up and something in his arms: the dead
Qilin. She shuddered at the thought but couldn't take her eyes off Grindelwald as he appeared to be
doing something with the Qilin. She couldn't quite make out what he was doing with it as she was
watching from the shadows and stuck between Vinda and Vogel.

Hearing a sudden screech Flora stepped back, amazed at what had happened. She watched as
Grindelwald appeared to heal the seemingly alive Qilin and she watched, horrified but unable to
move.

"Come look," Grindelwald said but only Credence moved forwards. He studied the creature, who
was now on the side of the pool, before hearing Grindelwald speaking again. Flora noticed the
change in the water and then it went back to normal again.

"Was there another?" the Dark Wizard asked.

"Another?" Credence asked as he was slightly confused as to what Grindelwald meant.

"That night. Was there another Qilin?" Grindelwald asked again.

Vogel was still in the shadows with Vinda and Flora as they silently watched on to see what was
going to happen. Flora looked into Grindelwald's eyes and she could see the fury that had been
directed at her in the early days of her stay at the Castle.

Credence's face was both pale and slick and he looked uneasy,

"I don't think so…"

Grindelwald moved so fast that nobody had time to react. Credence was pinned against the wall by
a burst of water. Grindelwald Apparated from the water, wrapped his hand around Credence's neck
and face, eyes full of anger.

"That's twice you've failed me! Do you not understand the danger you've put me in?! One last
chance. Understood? Find it," he ordered before Flora managed to break free from Vinda's grip and
rushed forwards.

"Gellert…" she said, cautiously placing a hand on Grindelwald's arm, "let him go. He knows he has
to succeed this time…"

It felt like the world stood still before Credence was able to get free and get away from
Grindelwald who's eyes were now focused on Flora.

"Flora he's…"

"He knows it and he hates it as much as you are furious at him," Flora said, "remember I can read
minds," she said as she looked at him, pulling her wand out to dry him.

"They're…" Vogel started.

"It's complicated," Vinda spoke, "even Grindelwald doesn't understand what is happening," she
said before steering Vogel back up the stairs and away from the pool.

"I should have just got you to read his mind in the first place," Grindelwald said as he glanced up
to see they were alone, "I want you by my side in Bhutan Flora. I know you are not on anyone's
side and I will make that clear," he said, "but when we get to the temple Rosier will hand you over
to me and there is where you'll stay."

Flora knew better than to argue. She could feel he was still furious at Credence.

"Goodnight Gellert," Flora spoke and kissed the Wizard's cheek she took her leave and headed to
have a shower and get ready for bed, wondering what Bhutan would hold in store for everyone.

Sisters Divided – Part 11:

Hogwarts:

Against the odds Newt had managed to rescue his brother from the Erkstag and the group had now
arrived at Hogwarts and that was a relief for Dumbledore.

For Tina, Queenie and Lally it was the chance to see another school, other than Ilvermorny and
they weren't going to admit it out loud but it was an impressive school for sure. They found the
Great Hall interesting and then they were able to meet McGonagall as well. Jacob was just finding
everything amazing but he'd had some run-ins with Slytherins, which had resulted in him eating
some Cockroach Clusters.

"Congratulations," Dumbledore spoke when the group were alone.

"Congratulations?" Theseus asked confused as he couldn't understand why Dumbledore was

congratulating them.

"Indeed. Professor Hicks managed to foil an assassination. And you are alive, and you are well.
The fact that everything did not go precisely to plan, was precisely the plan," Dumbledore said.

"Countersight 101," Lally said as she looked around at the group, "now Grindelwald shouldn't be
able to know the true plan."

"Forgive me Albus but aren't we back where we started?" Tina asked, blushing as she spoke feeling
Newt's eyes on her.

"Actually, I would argue that things are a great deal worse," Dumbledore said before turning to
Lally, "You haven't told them, have you?"

"What?" Newt asked.

"Grindelwald has been allowed to stand in the election," Lally replied before showing the brothers
a copy of the Daily Prophet.

"What? How?" the two said at the same time.

"Because Vogel chose easy and not right," Dumbledore said before he waved his wand in the air
causing grey smoke to erupt from it and form images. Jacob looked around, feeling rather
disorientated whilst the other watched the images join to make a landscape.

"It's alright," Theseus said to Jacob and rested a hand on his shoulder.

"Bhutan…" Newt said as he looked at the landscape.

"Correct. Three points to Hufflepuff. The Kingdom of Bhutan sits high in the Eastern Himalayas.
It's a place of indescribable beauty. Some of our most important magic has its origins there. They
say if you listen carefully enough, the past whispers to you. It also happens to be where the
election will be held," Dumbledore spoke, "it is because of what I've just spoken about why it's
being held there."

"He can't win… can he?" Queenie asked suddenly.

"Only a few days ago he was a fugitive from justice. Now he's an official candidate in the
International Confederation of Wizards. Dangerous times favor dangerous men," Dumbledore
spoke, "he also has a weapon in Flora who he can use to his advantage. She's caught on the wrong
side of this and we will rescue her… when the time is right," he said before beginning to walk
away, "we'll be dining in the village with my brother. Should you need anything Minerva is here,"
he finished before walking away."

"Dumbledore has a brother?" Lally asked before the Scamander brothers nodded.

It was later on that night when Newt, Lally and Theseus were upstairs in the Hog's Head pub and
the rest had headed into the Case. Jacob had learnt more about the Qilin and Newt and Theseus had
learnt about Credence, Aberforth and Ariana before Lally had to ask the question on her mind the
most.

"Can we save Flora?" she asked, "will Tina and Queenie get their sister back?"

"Yes… and no," Dumbledore spoke, "we will get her back but there is the question of how and
when and if…"

"Albus…?" Theseus asked as he sensed Dumbledore was hiding something from them. "What are
you not telling us?"

Dumbledore moved to the window and looked out of it. He'd been having an internal debate on
what to tell everyone.

"What I say does not leave this room," he said eventually, "there is a prophecy surrounding
Grindelwald and a witch… the witch is neither good nor evil but she is caught up in something that
she has no choice in. She's the light in the dark and will have a connection with Grindelwald that
could change the world as we know it."
"More than you and he had?" Newt asked and Dumbledore nodded.

"Yes and that witch will float between the two sides from one side," he said, "she is the most
important person in this war and she doesn't know it."

Lally had been listening in silence as she thought before she looked at Dumbledore.

"It's Flora isn't it? That's why she was abducted in Paris…"

Dumbledore sighed as he looked back at the group.

"We do not know if it is Flora. I have no doubt she will be in Bhutan by either Rosier's side or
close to Grindelwald's," he said, "if she is the witch then she and Grindelwald will have a matching
mark on their hands."

"Now I know why you do not want Tina and Queenie knowing this. Tina will blame herself," Newt
spoke as he looked at Lally, "she's still reckless when she wishes," the professor nodded as she
looked at Newt.

"The less they know the better. Karma will be able to provide insight when he rejoins us and keep
an eye on Flora and Grindelwald's hands to see if they have any marks."

"Now things are starting to make more sense. Karma is keeping an eye on Flora as well isn't he?"
Theseus asked.

"He is and that is something that will provide an insight on what is happening in Nurmengard,"
Albus spoke as he looked at the group before there was a knock on the door and Jacob appeared,
"it's late. You all should be heading to your rooms and prepare for the election. It's going to be long
and intense I feel," he said before sweeping out of the room leaving everyone behind.

Lally, Newt and Theseus looked at each other, trying to process what they'd learnt about Flora and
knowing that keeping it a secret from Tina and Queenie was going to be hard. For Lally it had been
a stab in her heart as Flora was like a sister to her, having grown up with Tina and now the thought
of losing her was something she did not want to face, let alone accept.

Chapter Notes

Hey everyone!
So, this was meant to go up around the time of my birthday but, in typical LSH
fashion, things didn't work out and I was occupied for most of my birthday and then I
headed down to my dad's house for the week. I may well be writing fic for
NaNoWriMo next month to help keep up the momentum with writing as Cosy Season
starts. It's my favourite time of the year.
Hope you're all doing well.

Sisters Divided – Part 12:

Nurmengard Castle:

Grindelwald had been speaking to Rosier about the election and how she would be in charge of
Flora until he asked for her before he headed to her room. He needed to see her. He could see the
Necromancy in the pool had shaken her and he needed to make sure that she wasn't too badly
shaken up. He also wanted to know if she'd ever seen anything like it before.

He walked into her room, stopping just inside the doorway, and watched her reading her book, a
pile from the Castle library sat on the table in her room. He smiled softly as he carried on watching
Flora reading before she looked up and her eyes met his causing him to freeze as he hadn't
expected her to spot him.

"Flora..." Grindelwald spoke softly as he looked at her before making his way into her room and
sat down opposite her, "I wanted to come and make sure you were fine. The Necromancy appeared
to startle you and I needed to come and see you."

"I've never seen it before," Flora spoke as she put her book down but missed the table as she was
still watching Grindelwald. He closed the space between them and picked up the book before
moving to the window seat he'd had created for her after learning she loved them. "It's something
I've heard of though."

"I could tell that you hadn't but you know of it despite not having seen it," Grindelwald said as he
watched her sit opposite him and he rested a hand on her leg, "the reason I have done it will
become clear in the future but I cannot say for now," he said as he looked at her.

"I wasn't going to ask you about it. I have learnt you have a reason for your actions and that it's
better not to question them," Flora replied as she looked at Grindelwald before looking out over the
mountains, snow seeming to fall once more. She couldn't be sure if it was Grindelwald's influence
on the weather or natural. Weather seemed to change in a minute for her, as well as her emotions,
especially around Grindelwald himself.

"I see Rosier has been teaching you a few things as well," Grindelwald spoke as he looked out of
the window as well, "I expected nothing less from her. She has been good taking you on as her
apprentice in a way."

"Am I trapped here now?" Flora asked, "is this to become my home forevermore?" she asked,
needing to know the answer to the question so she could prepare for it.

"That is one question I do not have the answer to Flora. It depends on various things that will
decide out fate and the election is one of them. I will say that you are free to go and see your sisters
but someone, probably Rosier, will go with you. You are free to come and go as you please if
somebody goes with you Flora. That is how much you're trapped here. A lot less than most,"
Grindelwald said as he moved closer to her and cupped her face gently, "I wouldn't dream of
denying you things and freedom. I trust you now."

"Why let me have more freedom than others? What's so special about me?" Flora asked as she tried
to ignore the feelings that were rising in her as she felt his hand on her face. "I still don't understand
any of this."

"I have already told you. You and I are going to change the world and the election tomorrow will
be the start. We're the perfect team, we balance each other," Grindelwald said as he moved her face
to look at him, "I know you're struggling to see it but it will happen and the world will be put to
rights with us together," he said.

Flora fought against her feelings and looked away from the Wizard and she looked down at his
hand that had now moved to her thigh. She sighed before she looked up at him again.

"You said you're drawn to me like a moth to a flame… I feel the same way about you Gellert. I
shouldn't and it's wrong but I really cannot help this," she said as she looked at him and he shook
his head.

"This is one of the forces that we are battling against," he said softly, "you're the light to my dark,
you're the good to my evil. Flora there are things that you do not know yet because I don't
understand them myself and I wish I could answer the millions of questions swirling around your
head but I simply can't because I don't have those answers to give you. All I can say is that you are
meant to be here with me and work some kind of magic here with me."

Flora had been listening to his words that she hadn't realised that he had pulled her even closer to
him.

"I wish I knew my purpose in life," Flora whispered as she looked at him, "I've been lost my whole
life and I still don't know it."

Grindelwald watched her. He wished that he could see a way to make her believe in herself more
and find her place in the world. He was hoping to give it to her as well. Their destiny was laid
before them and Flora couldn't know that. She had to be unaware of what she was doing. He
wrapped his arm around her and stroked her cheek softly.

"Your place for now is here," he said finally as he had decided that enough silence had passed, "I
know you are struggling to believe that but, once the election is over you can go and see your
sisters and let them know you are perfectly fine," he said and Flora nodded as he looked into her
eyes.

Flora made the mistake of looking right back into his, unable to look away as the feelings she was
having were beginning to overwhelm her. She moved a shaky hand up to cup his face and she
gasped slightly at feeling his face under her hand.

"You can fully feel it now can't you?" Grindelwald whispered and Flora could only nod in
response as her breath got caught in her throat. "I had a feeling you could and you've been battling
it the whole time we have been together tonight."

Grindelwald's face had been inching closer to hers and she could, once again, feel his shaky breath
on her face. She was afraid of everything she was feeling and, having never felt this way before, it
was hard for her to understand it all. All she knew was Grindelwald had awoken feelings in her that
she didn't know she had and that was something she would have to process. Her breath shook as
she felt his breath on her face and she didn't know whether to fight it all or give into it all.

Before she could even process what was happening she felt a kiss to her forehead. Grindelwald
always did this when he was about to leave her.

"Don't go…" she managed to whisper as she grabbed his hand. Grindelwald didn't move. There
was something in the way she'd said those words that made him pull her so she was straddling his
lap.

"You're alright Flora," he said softly as he heard her gasp. He stroked some hair back from her
face, "I won't do anything else until you say," he said and Flora could feel his heart beating just as
far as hers was.

"Thank you," she whispered as she looked into his eyes and pushed some of the hair back from his
face and her breath caught in her throat again.

It seemed to happen at the same time and before either of them really knew it was happening. Their
lips met and it set off something that had been pent up inside the two. The magic rippled through
the Castle and Vinda knew exactly what it was being the only one who knew about the connection
and tensions that had been rising between the two.

The kiss started off slow, neither sure how much to deepen the kiss or when to deepen it and but
then Flora made the first move and her hands moved to rest on Grindelwald's chest and he wrapped
his arms tighter around her, needing her as close to him as possible. Flora couldn't and wouldn't
understand this moment for a while yet, but she knew in that moment that she just wanted to be
with him… not be with him as such but break the tension that had been there since the spark
between them had started.

Grindelwald moved a hand to snake through Flora's hair as he kissed her more. Neither of them
came up for breath for a while before Flora pulled back, gasping for air.

"Are you OK?" Grindelwald asked as he stroked Flora's cheek and she nodded softly before
undoing the buttons on his shirt,

"No touching mine," she said before pushing his shirt off and gasping as she saw his upper body
exposed.

"Is this the first time…?" he asked as Flora looked down again with a nod.

He smiled softly at her before he captured her lips in a heated kiss. This time Flora allowed herself
to get lost in the kiss and allowed him to lay her down. However he respected her wishes and let
his hands roam her body as her hands roamed his and the magic swirled around them as it
combined, sending waves around the Castle and he kissed her. Flora had never known anything
like it and she couldn't stop kissing him.

Grindelwald had been surprised at the feelings that had risen inside of him the moment their lips
had connected. It felt different to when he'd been with Dumbledore and that was something he
didn't want to think about. Albus had been his destiny in the past but Flora was his destiny and the
future. He held her against him, kissing her with such a passion that he couldn't understand.

Eventually Grindelwald wrapped her around him as they moved to her bed, keeping his lips
attached to hers as they kissed. They were far more comfortable on the bed. They didn't stop
kissing until Flora fell asleep with her head and a hand resting on his chest and their legs tangled
together with his arms around her, holding her close.
