SCHOOL LAC SESSION FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

SEPTEMBER 23, 2022

NARRATIVE REPORT

“Learning experiences are like journeys. The journey starts where the learning is now and ends where
the learner is more successful. The end of the journey isn't knowing more, it's doing more.” - Julie Dirksen
Teachers need to grow and develop. No matter how old you are in your teaching profession, there is
always more to learn and there are ways to continue to grow and improve. However, getting better is not that
easy. Instead, it takes hard work, dedication and commitment.
Saytan Integrated School teaching staff conducted its first LAC Session for school year 2022 -2023 last
Sept. 23, 2022. It was held at the Grade 7 – Cesium Room at 1:00 PM. The master of ceremony was Sir Ryan
T. Lopez, the Program Head of the Senior High School Department. The opening prayer was led by M’aam
Phobie Misty V. Manzano, Kindergarten Teacher; followed by the singing of ” Isang Pangarap”, the DepED
theme song, led by M’aam Jessica A. Maniguay. The energetic teacher of the LSEN’s class, Ma’am Maria
Cristina Altuonji, checked the attendance by making teachers in each section dance along with a surprise music
being played. The SIS faculty showed their dancing skills and talent.
After the preliminary activities the LAC Session Proper started. Our brilliant school principal, Ma’am
Maribel L. Bugnosen, was our first speaker. Her topic was about Lesson Plan / DLL. She started her talked by
asking the participants on the difference of lesson plan and DLL. Participants shared their thoughts, and all
agreed that Lesson Plan and DLL differ on the structure but not on its purpose, both serve as the framework,
road map or guide in the teaching and learning process. A lesson plan or DLL is a teacher's description of the
course of instruction or "learning trajectory" for a lesson. She also introduced the Terminal and Enabling
Objectives of her topic. She also asked for whom we make the lesson plan and DLL and its for our learners, our
clientele in the teaching and learning process. After which, she discussed the Three-step process in Planning for
Instruction (Wiggins and McTighe ,1998) and the Importance of Lesson Planning. She also talked on the parts
of the explicit and implicit approach, Parts of a DLL, Elements of Instructional Planning for Effective Teaching
(Stronge, 2007), What Should be Taught, HOW should it be taught, HOW should it be assessed?, Essential
Components and Stages of a Lesson Plan. She also gave an assignment, which is to submit 1 DLL constructed
by each group. She ended her topic by sharing a quote “Meticulous planning will enable everything a man does
to appear spontaneous.”- Mark Caine
The next speaker was Ma’am Vanesza B. Edic. She started her session by providing participants
different puzzles. Participants actively participated in answering the different puzzles. Then she talked on what
is reading and the 10 Reasons Why Reading is Important. She also gave an activity where the participants were
asked to agree or disagree on some statements and to explain their responses. She also shared a quote “ Good
readers aren’t born. They’re created. Good writers aren’t born. They’re taught.” DREAM (Develop Reading to
Enhance and Activate your Mind) school’s reading project, which addresses the problem on literacy, especially
in reading was also presented. Lastly, she discussed the action plan regarding the project.

from their own.” - Katherine Paterson
