LONG JUMP (formerly
known as broad jump)
is a track-and-field
event in which an
athlete is required to
jump to a distance as
far as possible from a
given take-off point.
Among all the athletes,
the person who covers
a maximum distance is
usually declared as
winner. The sport is

LONG JUMP
1. Athlete have 1 minute to complete their jump
2. Each athlete shall be allowed THREE (3) non-consecutive jumps
(depending on the number of athletes competing). The athlete's
best jump will be used for scoring. All three jumps shall be
measured and recorded for the purpose of breaking ties.
3. Athlete’s foot must not cross the take-off board, otherwise the
jump is fault.
4. Athlete have to use the track to run up the sandpit.
5. Athletes must land in the sandpit area for their jump to count.

1. Take-off must be made with one foot only.
2. Dislodging of the bar or breaking the plane near the edge of the bar before clearing will
not be counted as successful jump.
3. Jumping height is decided by the Chief Judge. Players can accept the challenge or may
pass it.
4. If the competitor fails to jump the required height in three consecutive attempts, then
he/she will be disqualified from the competition.
5. During the final match, whoever clears above the bar with highest height is declared as
winner.
6. In case there is a tie, following two conditions may be applied to decide the winner.
1. The player who has fewer misses at the height at which the tie has occurred, is declared as winner.
2. The player who has fewest misses in the overall tournament is declared as winner.
7. The jumpers have to face a jump-off if there will be a tie for a first place.
8. The height will be greater than the previous level. Each player will be given one chance
for each clearance

1. Each athlete chooses his/her height that they wish to be entered
for in competitions
2. Each competitor has three tries to clear the height; if cleared,
the jumper advances to the next height and will again, have three
more attempts.
3. If a competitor fails to clear all three attempts, they are out and
their highest height is recorded; if a competitor fails to clear any
bar throughout the entire competition, they will receive an NH
which stands for “NO HEIGHT”.

4. Competitors also have the option of passing a height. For
instance, if a vaulter misses their first jump, they have the option
of passing on to the next height, but with only two attempts
instead of three. Correspondingly, if a vaulter misses two jumps in
a row, they can also pass to the next height but with only one
attempt left. Once a competitor reaches their third miss, they are
out.
5. A jump-off takes place in the event of a tie, and it is considered
sudden death starting at the last attempted height. If both vaulters
miss, the bar is lowered and if the jump is made, it is raised a little
bit. Each competitor gets one attempt.

2.The competitors fail to complete a jump within the time that is
allotted, counting as a missed attempt
