Polynomial Rollercoasters

Mini Project Checklist

In this assignment, students will use their knowledge of polynomial functions and the graphing calculator
desmos.com to create a roller coaster design. Students will also analyze the functions used and answer
questions related to this scenario.

Thinking 5 marks ✅
section 1 is a polynomial function of an odd degree (not linear)

section 2 is: a polynomial function of even degree (not quadratic)

section 3 is a polynomial function different from section 1 and 2 (not

linear and not quadratic)

Polynomials are in factored form with at least three factors

At least two of the functions meet at one point

A moving object is included in each of the three sections

Communication 5 marks ✅
