We have received 164% rain that too in a short span which has led to widespread damage for both publicas well as private properties. There is a wide spread belief that the operation of dams spill is the villain in the flood which was explained by our CMD though media but I don’t believe the publichas not convinced that in large. The rectification of the damages caused to KSEBL properties is huge and it will take months even years to setright. The suffering to the people is unimaginable and we the Keralite could do wonders in disaster management. The effort taken by KSEBL staff for supply restoration is commendable. Chemmanam Chacko) The purpose of art and literature is to educate and entertain people. In the different form of art such as visual, audible and readable, the role of humour is also important. Humour has no language; but soul of language is humour. It makes the language energetic active and live. Good humour makes people laugh and repeats its memory to laugh again. Even though role of humour is to make people laugh, it_ makes people to think also. The hidden purpose of humour isalso the same to make people think. According to characteristics, humour is catagorized into different names. They are Wit, Satire, ideal humour, irony, laricature, epigram (poetic humour), Lampoon (Moderate teasing) parady and barlasack (severe teasing). Almost all human beings have sense of humour. When weenjoy it the real purpose of humour is served. From the very beginning even from the birth of first Malayalam grammar book by Sri A.R. Rajaraj Varma (Kerala Panini) humour was introduced into our language. Sanjayan (M.R. Nair), Chandumenon (author of Indulekha), Kunchan Nambiar, Chaackyars, Basher, Punathil Kunjabdulla, Kunjunni Master, VKN have nourished our language by the ownstyles of humour. Even though Malayalam language is a vast ocean, Chemmanam poems sailed in unique direction. He converted social degradation, into poems and demanded the society to come out of sleep and to react. His poems are inspired from the essences abstracted from Chakyars, Kunchan Nambiar and Sanjayan. He started writing from 1946 by publishing his first book ‘Pravachanam’. Sri. ‘Chemmanam Chacko expired last week leaving his readers in sorrow. People humourify the language to their comfort-may be called as bafoonification.
