Author was Coy Comd “A Coy ex 8 Baloch” reinforcing “2 AKRF” in Samani subsector.
During Kotara Dhak raid Sub Khan Muhammad Coy 2IC, had hand to hand fight and
snatched LMG of en and mov back to coy. During the Kalsian Raid on night of 12/13 Dec
1964 on reaching tgt site tgt was vanished so they had to wait for next ni and at ni they found
en Offr mess near qtr gd where drunken party was in progress. They achieved surprise and
destroyed everything they found and was successful in ex-fil. On night of 19/20 feb 1965, Maj
Sultan Ahmed along with Capt Nek Badshah as covering party comd raided Uparli Karhali
during raid Maj Sultan came under fire of en LMG who said,” I let you come close, you
bastard, now you…..” suddenly his voice was smothered and MG fell silent; I saw him
slumping over his gun, Capt Khattak’s rifle must have got him. Capt Nek Badshah got
martyred during raid on Kanger by stepping on mfd. “His last orders for us were, not to let his
rifle fall into en hands” said by Hav Abdul Rehman. On this the body sent to his village and
Maj Sultan wrote a letter to his father, who wrote back “Nek Badshah died for his cty. He was
my son; I have four more. You give the word and they will all come and join 8 Baloch.” “Op
Nusrat”, on ni 6/7 Aug1965, a coy each from 8 Balcoh, 9 Punjab and 2 AKRF under my comd
infiltrated into en territory. 2 AKRF carried out raid on Jaurian Garrison against two Brigades
of Indian Army we only had 200 offr and men. On D-4 they lost contact with en Brigade which
had been trying to destroy coy ex 8 Baloch.
