 GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

GATE is a prestigious national-level exam that assesses candidates for comprehensive understanding in various
undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities. The GATE score is
used for admissions to various post-graduate education programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of
Technology, Master of Architecture, Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with nancial
assistance provided by MoE and other government agencies. Any undergraduate student currently in 3rd year or
higher years of any government approved program in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Ar ts/
Commerce/Science is eligible to appear for GATE 2024. More information on GATE 2024 is available in the website:

JAM - Joint Admission Test for Masters

IIT Madras is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2024. JAM 2024 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign) and there is
no age restriction. JAM 2024 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) to be conducted in SEVEN Test Papers at the
undergraduate level. JAM Scores are used for admission to programmes such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech),
M.S. Research, M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in various institutes.
Candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree or currently studying in the nal year of undergraduate
programme are eligible to apply for JAM 2024 examination. Foreign Nationals with Indian degree are eligible to apply,
subject to the policy of the Admitting Institutes.

IIT Madras: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) was established as an autonomous Institute of
national importance in 1959 by the Government of India with initial technical and nancial support from the
Government of Germany. IIT Madras is well equipped with teaching laboratories, advanced research facilities,

AICTE/UGC. Interested candidates should ll in the application form in the prescribed proforma duly sponsored by
the Head of the Institution and send to the coordinator on or before the due date.

BOARDING AND LODGING: Arrangements have been made to provide free boarding and lodging (Hostel) to all the
selected outstation participants at IIT Madras.
