Part A
1. Course Code: CE-412
2. Course Title: Structural Analysis and Design (Sessional - III): Computer aided analysis
and design of structures
7. Prerequisite(s): None
8. Credits: 1.5
Course Content:
Introduction of professional softwares, such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP 2000, etc. used in analysis
and design of RC buildings. Use of the guidelines of BNBC-2020/ ACI318 for analysis and
design of RC buildings for design loads.
13. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Mapping of CLOs with Program
Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
a) CLOs
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) Blooms Level
(Optional)
CLO1 C2
Explain the design principles and guidelines of RC
structures as per the National/ International Building
Codes.
CLO2 C3
Analyze the building structure and Compute the
design forces of members of RC building.
CLO3 C3
Design different components of building, such as
foundation, columns, beams and slabs, etc.
CLO4 C3, A3
Apply the modern tool in analysis and design of
building components.
CLO5 C3, P4
Prepare the structural drawing of the building with
Auto CAD and present it by oral presentation and
written report.

PLO-2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research and analyze complex engineering problems
and reach substantiated conclusions using the principles of mathematics, the natural sciences
and the engineering sciences.
PLO-3 Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems
and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate
consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental
considerations.
PLO-5 Modern tool usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and
modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex
engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations.
PLO- Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the
10 engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and
write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give
and receive clear instructions.
