Menu items

Overview
Overview of the status of all configured hosts (gateways) and detectors. The status and metal messages will
be updated automatically.

Current Status displays a list of the metal detectors identified in the network.
1. Hosts (gateways) Up to 125 devices can be connected to one host
Green: Host active
Red: Host deactivated
 possible causes: connection interrupted, device switched off

2. Detectors Black: Detector active

Grey: Detector deactivated
 possible causes: connection interrupted, device switched off

You can see the last 10 messages received from the active devices in the network here.

Time synchronization

Synchronize the metal detector with the server time.

Attention:
Only previously configured metal detectors can be synchronized

Detector Settings

The detector settings can be saved and restored here.

The metal detectors have internal saved Product Parameter and Device Parameter.
You can download the parameters in order to restore them after a Softwareupdate or to transfer the
parameters from one detector to another.

-13-
Attention:
Wrong parameters can affect the functions of your detectors.

Saving Device Parameter

The product-independent parameters of the metal detector are called Device Parameters.

Save your current device settings, such as serial number, photocells, …

Saving Product Parameter

The product-dependent parameters of the products are called Product Parameters.

You have the possibility to save current product settings here. All parameters will be saved which are
linked with a product, such as sensitivity, rejection time, …

Upload Product Parameters:

Previously saved parameters can be restored here.

-14-
Reports
Run Report

To start a report, click on one of the ready-made reports. A window with filter options appears.
Depending upon the selected report you can do a sort here according to certain users, batch numbers,
products, devices or errors. All devices which are initialised can be selected.

-15-
You can check your selection in the preview window.

Via Return to selection you can return to the filter options. Printing of the protocol is started via Run.
Subsequently you can open the PDF file created or save it in a location of your choice with the right
mouse button “Save as …”.

Upload Report File

Upload compiled Report Files (Only .jasper files approved).
Upload Report-Definition
Report definitions are the non-compiled versions of the Report files (.jasper). The definitions are
not needed to generate the report.
Upload Report Image Files
Upload all images which should be used in your reports. Missing image files lead to the abort of
the report generation
Upload Report Fonts
Upload all fonts, which use you in your report as embedded fonts, to the server at this point. Missing
fonts lead to the generation of the report being aborted.

Configuration
Hosts

Configuration of the hosts (CANopen Gateways).

Any desired number of CANopen Gateways (hosts) can be configured within the application. In order to add
a new host you must set the IP address and the port number (standard 7234).
Adding a host
Parameters required:
Name: unique identifier
IP address: IP address of the host
Port: port (standard: 7234)

-17-
etectors

Configuration of the detectors

AMD05
Up to 127 detectors can be connected to each host via CAN-Bus.
Each detector is uniquely accessible via its node address in the CAN network.
Adding an AMD05 detector
Parameters required:
Node address: 1-127
Name: unique identifier
Description: description of the detector
Host: selection of the host

Please note:
Each detector must be assigned to a host that has already been configured. If you wish to add a
new detector to a new host, you must first configure the host before you can configure the
detector.

AMD 07

Up to 255 detectors can be configured via the network interface.

Each detector is linked with a unique IP range.
Adding an AMD07 detector
Parameters required:
Name:
Description:

autoTEST Unit: Set the hook if the device has an autoTEST unit.
IP Range: The first three sections of the IP address. The last section will be set
automatically based on the device configuration.

Advanced mode
IP Controller Unit: The first four sections of the controller unit IP address. The last section
will be set automatically based on the device configuration.

IP Sensor Unit: The first four sections of the IP address of the sensor unit. The last section
will be set automatically based on the device configuration.

IP Display Unit: The first four sections of the IP address of the display unit. The last section
will be set automatically based on the device configuration.

IP autoTEST Unit (only for devices with autoTEST): The first four sections of the
autoTESTUnit IP address. The last section will be set automatically based on the device
configuration.

You can register and configure new users via ‘Add user’.

-19-
Language Settings

Add new Languages / Text files and change the default Language

4
1. To add a new Language, you have to add the name of the Language (e.g. French), that should be
shown in the Language-selection fields, and its international 2-digit Language code (e.g. fr).
2. Change the current language.
3. Download language files. Download the language
from which you want to translate.
(de = German, en = English …)
In order for the text to be displayed correctly, you a) b)
will require the freeware program “poEdit”. You
can download the text editor free of charge at
http://www.poedit.org .
poEdit a)
a) Key text (not changeable)
b) Text to be translated c)
c) Field for text input (for the translation)
4. New or already translated texts can be uploaded
here. The text files must be named according to the format “text_XX.po”, wherein XX is replaced by
the international two-letter language code.
Caution: Uploading files with the same name will cause the old files to be overwritten.

-20-
Log files

Editing of the log settings on the basis of the following parameters:

 Time period (in hours): describes the duration of the log messages within a file.
 Log level: affects the number of messages that are stored in the log files in descending order
(trace = all messages, debug = all debug information, info = all information, warn = warnings
only, error = errors only)

Confirm your settings with Reset.

Executing a Reset stops the current logging session and creates a new log archive.
The creation of the archive can take a few seconds. The archive appears automatically in the log file
list.

Backup

Detector Messages

Create a backup of detector messages or restore the condition of a previously created backup.

To create a data backup:

The messages which the computer receives from its surroundings are saved in a database in the
Multilink-Master. Since large amounts of data are collected during the course of time, it is advisable to
save the database locally on your own PC from time to time. This gives you the possibility to access the
saved events at any time.
You can select all messages or just save the events from within a certain chosen time period.

-21-
To restore data

Select “Restore data” to restore previously saved events. “Search” will display a window where you can
select the saved events.

User Profiles

Save and restore the configured user profiles and the associated rights.

Configuration Files

With the configuration files you can accommodate the application to the detectors of MESUTRONIC.
It may be necessary to upload new configuration files in order to support new products and functions.
This is done in the same way as restoring a configuration file backup.

Detector Settings

Save and restore the host and detector settings

Reportparameter

Backup/restore of report settings and report parameter settings

Text Files

Backup/restore the text files

Adjust Server Time

Saving of the metal and error messages takes place independent of the time set on the metal detector.

Restart Server

The server and the mesuNET application will be restarted

Attention:
The server will be restarted, which takes up to one minute. During this time the application is not reachable.
After the successful restart the login screen will be shown.

-22-
Restart Application

Restart the Application. Restarts only the mesuNET software.

Attention:
The server (Tomcat) will be restarted, which takes up to one minute. During this time the application is not
reachable. After the successfull restart the login screen will be shown.

Restart m4d server

Restarts the locally installed m4d server.

The m4d server is required for communication between mesuNET servers and the detectors via
CAN-Bus.

Softwareupdate

Update the mesuNET application. Upload the new mesuNET.war file.

After that you can update the application. The server must be restarted, which takes up to one minute.

Network Settings

Edit the network settings.

Attention:
You have to restart the server to apply changes.

Email Settings

Configure the SMTP-Host which is necessary to send the error mails. Contact your system administrator for
further informations.
