Introduction

The obejetive of this work is to show how revenge often manifests itself in the relations of the
patriotical world society of the famous gouerment. It is necessary to highlight the presence of the
narrator as a secondary character.

The purpose from this work to be to carry out of some of the main influence in the thinking of
Roald Daht, who adresses issues of gender and classes, that grows into revality between the
house owner Mike Scholfield and an arrogant overbearing wine expert called Richard Pratt
The tension begins as a harmaless bet about the name of wine. Trought the wine, Doald introduce
the originality of taste the wine introducing the personification in the wine languages suggest a
characters description because in the tasting context he discribes the gesture with precisión and
can judge the accuary of other. The Taste to expose his sort of opposition between high and low
culture without the narrator wine cognoscente would be perceived by the reader as sort
pervension practiced only by rich people with too much time intheir hands
Taste deals with themes such as stubbornness, pride and even human stupidity.

We notice that many of Dahl´s character are all ordinary people, that have a dark and often cruel
side to their personalities. Dahl shows us that we must keep an eye on people, that we shouldn´t
trust so easily the people around us. The pride of Mike and Richard is the seed that grows into a
serious chivalry between both of them. The cruelty and darkness is obviously shown in Richard,
because he has cheated to win the bet and for showing off his ¨talent¨of tasting wines and the
perfect example of stubborness is Mike. It was the cruelest thing a father could do to his daughter
because he let herself get carried away by his ambitions.
Conclusion

In my opinon the wine is the true protagonist of the story, where it satirizes the representation of
lovers of good wine through of taste shown aspects of each character like the deception cruelty
and darkness in both characters, because they let theirselves get carried away by the game and
their own interests.
