Call for Book Chapter for Edited Book

To be published with ISBN under special
publication on “Diversity of Millets in the
Indian Himalayan Region”

The United Nation's Food & Agriculture Organization has declared

2023 as the "International Year of Millets". It is well known that
millets are drought and disease resistant crops and they are also store
house of nutrients. Millets grow in marginal soil with least care
and has been part of cultivation and cuisine in the Indian Himalayan
region since times in memorial. Climate scientists are optimistic that
millets can be a climate smart option as future food and agricultural practices. Therefore millet
production is likely to be increased across the globe including India.
In the view of the above the EIACP GBPNIHE is inviting chapters on millets for generating
scientific knowledge and disseminating it. under special publication on two selected themes
i) Diversity of Millets in Indian Himalayan Region (Millets production, diversity, status,
nutraceuticals properties and health benefits, consumption, development of market, value chain
and many others aspects of research and development activities on millets etc.) and ii) Ecology and
Environment (environment and ecology, biodiversity and conservation of medicinal plants, water
and soil quality, impact of climate change on Himalayan ecology, forest ecology, forest resources
consumption etc.)
Authors are requested to submit full length paper that may enhance understanding innovative
solutions of the present scenario. The 6 page article (3000 words and less than 15 references) written
in English language with supporting photos (3)/ chart/ data table (3) is invited. The manuscripts
submitted by the author(s) will be reviewed and edited for length and clarity as per the standard
norms of the EIACP publication. Articles should be submitted by September 15, 2023. It is
anticipated that they will be published in 2023-24 issue of EIACP special publication.
Articles should be submitted by September 15, 2023
