Knicut's CristiAN ACADEMY
A Quest for Excellence
May 31, 2023,
To Whom It May Concern:
have had the pleasure of working with Kelsey Reppart for much of the 2022-2023 school year at
Knight's Christian Academy (KCA) in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. 1 serve as an administrator, and [
initially met Ms. Reppart as a parent of one of our grade 4 students. As a new administrator at KCA, I
eared she was a certified teacher and was available to serve as a substitute. This was welcome news,
and { immediately sought to utilize her skillset at school!
Ms. Reppart was called upon early in the school year when one of our teachers required a substitute for
an entire week right at the beginning of the school year. She happily jumped at the assignment and
quickly established routines within the classroom to ensure success for that week. As I interacted with
her throughout that time, she had keen insights on several students and looked for ways to have greater
impact and success. After this experience, she was at the top of my list whenever a substitute teacher
was needed!
‘Then in November, we had one of our teachers resign mid-year, As our administrative team sought to
fill this position, Ms. Reppart was an obvious choice to join our team! After consulting with her, she
prayerfully considered this opportunity, and to our delight, she accepted the position! What a wonderful
provision for ust
‘As a small school, we have several combined classes, and Ms. Reppart was hired to teach grades 1 and
2, ‘Teaching is challenging, but having combined classes is no small feat! Ms. Reppart jumped right into
the assignment, though, and looked for ways to enhance what was being done previously. One way Ms.
Reppart improved the instruction for her students was by soliciting assistance from people within our
school community. For example, after she was hired, she realized the first graders needed additional
help with their reading skills. She consulted with a retired reading specialist who agreed to voluntarily
help provide additional instruction for those students. In addition, she utilized the skills of a student’s
grandmother to help her differentiate math lessons for her students. By seeking help and thinking
‘outside the box, Ms. Reppart provided additional support to her students and enhanced their learning.
Finally, Ms. Reppart is a good communicator. If she needed resources, she clearly communicated her
need. If she had an idea for process improvement or for a team building activity, she was proactive to
share her thoughts with administration. Though I am saddened to see Ms. Reppart leave KCA, I know
she will be a wonderful addition to your staff. I recommend her without reservation.
Sincerely,
Dawn Snellenberger, Administrator
