DAEWOO EXCAVATOR HYDRAULIC PUMP

Introduction:
The topic hydraulic pump is linked to DAEWOO EXCAVATOR heavy truck machine, its
model is 470 LC-V.

The hydraulic pump type KAWASAKI K3V180DTH1V which has a serial number 832930
was disconnected from the excavator after performing a pressure test, this pump has
two swash plates and two pistons it means that it has two hydraulic pump integrated
into single one, one of them give us 2000 PSI pressure when we test it and the other one
give us 4000 PSI pressure so that it indicate that there is a malfunction of the KAWASAKI
pump in the mechanical section because there is not enough flow ( low speed rotation )
, so we take the mentioned pump to the Al-Burhan for Heavy Equipment workshop at
Amman.

After separate the parts of the pump it shows us by visual that many parts were worn
out.

Visual Examination:

Figure 1 shows that there is a pothole as shown by the arrow in the barrel.

Figure 2 show that there is a dot wearing it means that there is something that knocks
the plate.

As shown in the figure 3 PLATE-RETRACTION has severe wear out in the first pump.

This figure number 4 for the second pump also has a severe wear out like the first one.

Conclusion:

After examining all the parts we found that:

1- The pump is full of rust and worn out material.

2- There is scratch in the swash plate and barrel and it’s severe.
3- Some parts have pothole to big size.

Moreover, the intensive amount of the metal particles in the mentioned system may
cause unexpected major failures to the main hydraulic system components.
