Cuffed ETT
• Reduces need for ETT changes
• Improves capnography
Shock
• Hypovolemic: 10-20ml/kg over 5-10 minutes
• Cardiogenic: 5-10ml/kg over 10-20 minutes
• Septic: Preferred vasopressors: epinephrine or norepinephrine
• Hemorrhagic: Consider blood products instead of crystalloids for volume
Chain of Survival
• Added Recovery link
Tachycardia
• One single algorithm for both narrow and wide complex tachycardia
Cardiac Arrest
• Early epinephrine for non-shockable cardiac arrest rhythms, after CPR
initiated
• Epinephrine is still every 3-5 minutes, but targeting to give at 4 minute
mark
• Recommendation for waveform capnography with bag-mask
• Pre-charge AED before pulse checks
• Hover safely over chest when defibrillating
2020 (Updated): For infants and children with a pulse but absent or
