1 1. A Simply supported beam of length 10m carries point loads of (10+Roll No)kN and 50kN at a 2 AP 10
distance of 3m and 7m from the left end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams for
the beam.
2 2. A beam loaded as shown in figure. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams and 2 AP 10
calculate (i) maximum shear force, (ii) maximum bending moment, (iii) point of contraflexure.

3.
3 Calculate the deflections at C & D in the below figure using Macaulay’s method. 3 AP 10
The point load at C is [12 + Roll. No.]kN and D is 8 kN.

4.
4 A beam ABC of length 9m has one support of the left end and the other support at a distance of 6m 3 AP 10
from the left end. The beam carries a point load of [1 + Roll. No.]kN at the right end and also
carries a uniformly distributed load of 4kN/m over a length of 3m as shown in figure. Determine the
slope and deflection at the point C. Take E= 2 x 105 N/mm2 and I=5 x 108mm4.
