Blend transportation
a) Loading from Bulk Plant to Cement Bulk Truck: Before the transfer of the blend to the transport unit:
 Check the bulk trailer for contamination,
 Record the weight on the truck
 Confirm the air dryer at the bulk plant has been checked.
 Visually verify the cement silos are clean with no leftover from previous operations.
 12-15 psi air pressure should be enough to transfer blend to the truck.
 20-30 psi air pressure should be enough to transfer cement to the truck`.
 Pressure and additional air supply are to be adjusted based on experience on similar blends. To transfer blends
with hollow particles, air pressure should be limited to maximum 20 psi to avoid crushing these particles.
 During the blend unloading, monitor the vent line (if possible): if you observe excessive product venting the
silo is probably almost full.
 Take blend/cement samples to be sent to the laboratory.
 Fill the excel sheet with empty truck weight and full truck weight.

b) Loading from Cement Bulk Truck to Storage Silos:

 Perform pre-job meeting and complete standard checklist for safe performance.
 Clearly identify specific silos for cement on the storage bulk plant.
 Visually verify the cement silos are clean with no leftover from previous operations, if the silo contained the
same blend on previous blending operation, it is deemed good enough to blow it clean and no need to open
it.
 Bulk volume factor must be taken into consideration for volume calculations to prevent overflowing the silo.
 Take blend/cement samples to be sent to the laboratory.
 Document every inspection: receiving silo information, include signatures of SLB and boat crew and pictures
(if it is necessary)
 Complete standard checklist before pressure up bulk equipment InTouch ID# 6894591 (see appendix 1).

c) Loading from Trucks/Silos to the Boat/Vessel: Transfer the blend to the silos at vessel transport unit
 Perform pre-job meeting and complete standard checklist for safe performance.
 Clearly identify specific silos for cement on the vessel. Discharge cement/blend into silos assigned only for
Cement (silos assigned to barite must be assigned only for that product).
 Bulk volume factor must be taken into consideration for volume calculations to prevent overflowing the silo.
 Perform meeting with vessel crew and ensure they comply with vessel cleanliness.
 Visually verify the cement silos are clean with no leftover from previous operations, if the silo contained the
same blend on previous blending operation, it is deemed good enough to blow it clean and no need to open
it.
 Verify load lines clown clean, free from debris, rock catcher installed and proper blend/cement transfer
pressure.
 Document every inspection: receiving silo information, include signatures of SLB and boat crew and pictures
(if it is necessary)/

 Take blend/cement samples to be sent to the laboratory.
 Transfer pressure need to be adapted depending on: height difference, distance between the delivering silos
and the receiving storage, pipe size, blend type, etc. The usual 15psi used may not be enough in some cases,
also at too high pressure may crush hollow sphere particles. Recommended pressure up discharging silo to
20-30psi, fully open 3” air jets line, close the vent line, close 2” air line to the receiving silo.
 Complete the checklist before transfer bulk product to boat, InTouch ID# 6908877 (see appendix 1).

d) Loading from Boat/Vessel to the Cement Rig silos: The location of the silos will impact the cement delivery to
the cement unit. Several parameters are to be considered: height difference, distance, pipe size, change of
direction in the line, type of valves, bulk air delivery rate, air pressure.
 Identify cement silos assigned for the cement to discharge, verify silo cleanliness, capacity and dead volume.
 Rig up to the receiving silo (via top or FILL line, do not fill the receiving silo through the bottom/DISCHARGE
line)
 Avoid making excessive angles with the hose.
 Blow with pressure from the discharge line of the discharging silo, check the receiving silo vent line (air must
be able to flow freely from the end of the vent line)
 Transfer pressure need to be adapted depending on: height difference, distance between the delivering vessel
and the receiving storage, pipe size, blend type, etc. The usual 15psi used may not be enough in some cases,
also at too high pressure may crush hollow sphere particles. Recommended pressure up discharging silo to
20-30psi, fully open 3” air jets line, close the vent line, close 2” air line to the receiving silo.
 Maximum pressure should be 35-40 psi to avoid too much material flow to the vent line.
 During the blend unloading, monitor the vent line (if possible): if you observe excessive product venting, then
either the silo is almost full or too much air pressure is being used to make the transfer. Request the boat
captain to stop the transfer and correct the air pressure, or begin loading into an empty silo; otherwise, too
much product will be lost.
 Blend/Cement samples must be taken at the beginning, middle and end of the transfer for each receiving tank.
Samples must not be blended together but remain in separate box/containers.
 Complete the checklist before receiving bulk product from boat to rig, InTouch ID# 6908880 (see appendix 1).

11. Sampling for rig blend testing
 Three samples per silo must be taken on the rig for field lab test (beginning, middle and end of the transfer
for each receiving tank)
 Rig samples are to be taken with a delta Y sampling device. If one is not currently installed on the rig, a delta
Y should be used and installed before the blend is transferred to the rig.
 Samples should be sent to Villahermosa laboratory for confirmation testing.
 For urgent activities, samples should be sent to Poza Rica laboratory for confirmation testing.

12. Logistics plan

 Logistic from SLB Bulk plant to BHP Shorebase

Schlumberger-Private
 Logistic from BHP Shorebase to the vessel

 Logistic from vessel to DW Invictus

 Liquid additives will arrive to BHP Shorebase in offshore stainless-steel tote tanks or 5 gallons containers
a. Samples must be collected at the SLB base prior to leave to the shorebase
 Solid additives in pallets will arrive to BHP Shorebase in enclosed containers
a. Samples must be collected at the SLB base prior to leave to the shorebase
 Blend/Cement samples will send to Villahermosa laboratory for confirmation testing.
a. Follow proper procedure defined by OPC for samples mobilization
b. Consider following periods of time from one location to other
