Nowadays technologies develop very fast, so when they are needed, they are

ready to help people in new situation for them. Of course, it is about COVID-19
pandemic. Spreading of virus brought about drastic change in everyday life of all in
our world. Due to the need to stop the growing incidence, the governments of the
countries decided to introduce a remote mode of work and studying. So, learning
English is not exception. Many students were forced to study a foreign language
without direct contact with a teacher or native speaker, what made this process very
difficult. Therefore, can it be argued that learning English remotely will have less
effect than receiving information “face to face”?
First of all, when you learn language, the main role will have pronunciation. If
you saw teacher, you could notice how his lips move or with which intonation he
reads the text. Student listens clearly what way he should utter some difficult words
or phrases. In addition to this, teacher can understand what information is
comprehensible for him from the expression on his face. What is more, studying can
not be interrupted owing to technical problems from one of sides. For example, some
pupils study from little cities where the Internet is not connected or link is very weak.
Also, bad connecting is forced to misunderstanding and student can remember
something wrong as right one.
On the other hand, such studying gives more opportunities for spending time
with your hobbies. And if student really wants to learn English, he will use these
possibilities for communication with native speakers on social networks.
Consequently, he will get this lack of practice which is lost because of remote
education. To some extent, it will improve student’s grammatical skills and help him
to communicate by means of written speech. Furthermore, availability of free time
allows student to spend it for watching films, above all, ability of translation can
become better if these films are in a foreign language. As a result, it is combining
useful with enjoyable.
It’s clear in general that problem of remote learning foreign language always
will be open. Much depends on the student himself, on his desires, aspirations and
goals of language learning. If conditions permit and he is on fire with the idea of
perfect knowledge of English or another language, he will be able to achieve more
than with usual study. But if he doesn't care and learning the language is a heavy
burden, then, as say, even legs will get in the way of a bad dancer.
