Rules and Regulations for Queen Kaogma 2023

Sutherland CamSur Edition

The Queen Kaogma 2023: Sutherland CamSur Edition is a LGBTQ+ pageant


exclusively for employees of Sutherland CamSur. The pageant aims to
promote camaraderie, talent, and advocacy among the LGBTQ+ community
in the workplace. To ensure a fair and successful event, the following rules and
regulations have been established:

Eligibility
1. The pageant is open to all employees of Sutherland CamSur who identify as
male/ part of the LGBTQ+ community.
2. Applicants must have a clear record of attendance and must have no history of
disciplinary action within the company.

Registration Mechanics
1. Interested applicants must fill out an online registration via an advert that was
sent by the Site Council CamSur distro.
2. Applicants must submit a recent headshot and full-body photograph, along with a
short video introducing themselves and their advocacy for the LGBTQ+
community.
3. The deadline for registration is on May 26, 2023

Pageant Mechanics
1. The pageant consists of the following segments:
a. Tree Planting- 10%
b. Philippine Festival National Custom- 30 %
c. Advocacy 10%
d. Production Number and Opening Statement- 10%
e. Evening Gown- 20%
f. Grand Coronation Night Q&A- 20%
g. Back to Zero. Identifying the Queen Kaogma 2023- Final Question 100%
2. In the Tree Planting segment, each contestant will participate in a tree planting
activity to showcase their commitment to the environment and community. They
will join the CamSur Tree planting events on June 17, 2023. Headed by the
CamSur Site Council Team.
3. In the National Custom segment, each contestant will showcase their creativity
and cultural pride by donning Philippines Festival attire. This event will happen
on June 2, 2023.
4. In the Advocacy segment, each contestant will present their advocacy for the
LGBTQ+ community through a pre-recorded video (60 to 90 seconds) and a live
speech.

5. In the Grand Coronation Night, each contestant will showcase their talent, grace,
and poise through a Production Number, opening statement, evening gown, and
culminating in a Q&A portion.
6. After the tallying the First Phase. Will Final 3 for the Final Rounds
7. Back to Zero for the Final Q&A.
8. The scores from all segments will be added up to determine the overall score of
each contestant. The contestant with the highest overall score will be crowned as
Queen Kaogma 2023: Sutherland CamSur Edition. In case of a tie, the judges
will deliberate and make a final decision based on the contestant's performance
throughout the competition.

Scoring: First Phase

Philippine Festival National Custom - 30%


June 2, 2023

Each contestant's creativity, style, and cultural pride will be evaluated based on
their choice of attire, accessories, and overall presentation. The Presentation is
on June 2, 2023.
1. Creativity and Originality - 10%: The uniqueness and originality of the
contestant's costume will be evaluated based on their creativity in incorporating
elements of traditional Filipino and LGBTQ+ culture.
2. Stage Presence and Confidence - 10%: The contestant's overall confidence,
poise, and stage presence will be evaluated based on their ability to showcase
their costume with grace and elegance.
3. Attention to Detail - 10%: The quality and attention to detail of the contestant's
costume will be evaluated based on the intricacy and completeness of their
costume

Tree Planting - 10%

Each contestant's performance during the tree planting activity will be evaluated
based on their level of participation, enthusiasm, and commitment to
environmental protection.
• Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols: 3 points
• Quality of tree planting: 3 points
• Participation and teamwork: 4 points

Advocacy - 10%
June 9, 2023

Each contestant's advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community will be evaluated based
on their pre-recorded video, live speech, and ability to articulate their message
clearly and convincingly.
1. Message and Content - 5%: The contestant's message and content will be
evaluated based on the clarity, relevance, and originality of their advocacy
for the LGBTQ+ community.
2. Delivery and Execution - 5%: The contestant's delivery and execution will be
evaluated based on their ability to articulate their message clearly, confidently,
and effectively, and engage the audience

Production Number and Opening statement - 10%


June 30, 2023

Each contestant's personality, confidence, and sense of style will be evaluated


based on their choice of casual wear, accessories, and overall presentation.
1. Stage Presence and Confidence - 5%: The level of confidence, poise, and stage
presence the contestant demonstrates during the opening statement and
production number.
2. Performance and Execution - 5%: The quality and execution of the contestant's
performance in the production number and delivery of their opening statement.

Evening Gown - 20%

Each contestant's elegance, sophistication, and grace will be evaluated based on


their choice of formal wear, accessories, and overall presentation.
1. Elegance and Style - 10%: The level of elegance, style, and sophistication the
contestant demonstrates through their choice of evening gown, accessories, and
overall presentation.
2. Stage Presence and Confidence - 10%: The level of confidence, poise, and
stage presence the contestant demonstrates during their walk in the evening
gown segment.

Q&A - 20%

Each contestant's ability to answer the judges' questions with clarity,


thoughtfulness, and it will be evaluated based on the following criteria all

questions are provided 5 days before the pageant. Please see the sample
questions below:
1. Relevance - 5%: The extent to which the contestant's response addresses the
question asked.
2. Content - 5%: The depth and accuracy of the contestant's response.
3. Confidence - 5%: The level of self-assurance and poise the contestant
demonstrates in answering the question.
4. Delivery - 5%: The clarity, coherence, and eloquence of the contestant's
response.

Q&A First Phase Questions (Samples)


1. What is your definition of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how do you
incorporate these principles into your daily life?
2. In your opinion, what are some of the biggest challenges facing marginalized
communities in Sutherland CamSur, and how can we address these issues?
3. How do you believe we can create a workplace culture that is truly inclusive and
welcoming for all employees, regardless of their race, gender, or sexual
orientation?
4. What are some of the most pressing human rights issues facing the LGBTQ+
community today, and what can be done to address these challenges?
5. What role do you believe companies like Sutherland CamSur have in advancing

Scoring: Final Phase. All scoring is back to zero.


June 30, 2023

Final Q&A - 100%: The Final Q&A segment is the most crucial part of the
competition, where each contestant's intelligence, wit, and communication skills
will be evaluated based on their ability to answer a question related to LGBTQ+
advocacy, current events, and social issues. The scoring criteria are as follows:
1. Content and Relevance - 40%: The relevance, depth, and quality of the
contestant's answer to the question given.
2. Delivery and Communication Skills - 30%: The clarity, coherence, and
effectiveness of the contestant's communication skills during their answer.
3. Confidence and Poise - 20%: The level of confidence, poise, and composure the
contestant demonstrates during their answer.
4. Overall Impression - 10%: The overall impression the contestant leaves on the
judges based on their performance throughout the competition.

Final Question: The scores from the Final Q&A segment will be used to
determine the overall score of each contestant, and the contestant with the
highest overall score will be crowned as Queen Kaogma 2023: Sutherland
CamSur Edition. In case of a tie, the judges will deliberate and make a final
decision based on the contestant's performance throughout the
competition.

Options
1. The pageant will be conducted in English language only
2. Contestants may seek the assistance of their colleagues in their tree planting and
advocacy segments, but only the contestant will be judged in these segments.
3. Candidates may ask assistance from their program for their budget.

Prizes
Queen Kaogma 2023
Awarded to the contestant who achieves the highest overall score in all
segments of the pageant.
CASH PRIZE: Php 10,000.00 + Trophy, crown, Sash and bouquet
Responsibilities:
o Serve as an ambassador for Sutherland CamSur's Corporate Citizenship
Program, promoting its initiatives and activities to the community and beyond.
o Participate in corporate citizenship events and activities, such as volunteering
programs, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach initiatives, as an
active representative of the company.
o Collaborate with the company's corporate citizenship team to design and
implement new initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the
workplace and beyond.
o Use their platform as Queen Kaogma 2023 to raise awareness about social and
environmental issues and promote positive change in the community.
o Represent Sutherland CamSur at external events, related to corporate social
responsibility, sustainability, and community engagement.
o Work closely with Sutherland CamSur's Site Council team to align corporate
citizenship initiatives with the company's overall vision and mission.
o Queen Kaogma 2023 will play an important role in promoting Sutherland
CamSur's commitment to corporate citizenship and its vision of creating a
positive impact in the community and beyond.

First Runner-Up Queen Kaogma 2023


Awarded to the contestant with the second-highest overall score in all segments
of the pageant.
CASH PRIZE: Php 7,000.00 + Trophy, crown, Sash and bouquet
Responsibilities:
o Support the Queen Kaogma 2023 in promoting and participating in corporate
citizenship events and initiatives, and act as a backup representative of the
company when necessary.
o Participate in volunteering activities, fundraising campaigns, and community
outreach initiatives, and encourage other employees to do the same.

o Use their position as Queen Kaogma Runner-Up 2023 to help raise awareness
about social and environmental issues and promote positive change in the
community
o The Queen Kaogma Runner-Up 2023 will play a crucial role in supporting Queen
Kaogma 2023 and in promoting Sutherland CamSur’ commitment to corporate
citizenship. They will help to ensure that the company is making a positive impact
on the community and contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future.

Second Runner-Up Queen Kaogma 2023


Awarded to the contestant with the third-highest overall score in all segments of
the pageant.
CASH PRIZE: Php 5,000.00 + Trophy, crown, Sash, and bouquet

Responsibilities:
o Support the Queen Kaogma 2023 in promoting and participating in corporate
citizenship events and initiatives, and act as a backup representative of the
company when necessary.
o Participate in volunteering activities, fundraising campaigns, and community
outreach initiatives, and encourage other employees to do the same.
o Use their position as Queen Kaogma Runner-Up 2023 to help raise awareness
about social and environmental issues and promote positive change in the
community
o The Queen Kaogma Runner-Up 2023 will play a crucial role in supporting Queen
Kaogma 2023 and in promoting Sutherland CamSur’ commitment to corporate
citizenship. They will help to ensure that the company is making a positive impact
on the community and contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future.

Miss Congeniality
CASH PRIZE: Php 500.00 + Sash
Awarded to the contestant who exhibits the highest level of kindness, courtesy,
and friendliness towards her fellow contestants and organizers throughout the
duration of the pageant.

Best in Tree Planting


CASH PRIZE: Php 500.00 + Sash
Awarded to the contestant who displays the most enthusiasm and dedication in
the Tree Planting segment of the pageant.

Best in National Custom


CASH PRIZE: Php 2,000.00 + Sash

Best in Production Number and Advocacy Statement


CASH PRIZE: Php 500.00 + Sash
Awarded to the contestant who displays the most energy, grace, and
synchronicity in the Production Number segment of the pageant.

Best in Evening Gown


CASH PRIZE: Php 2,000.00 + Sash

Awarded to the contestant who wears the most stunning and elegant evening
gown, while radiating poise and confidence on stage.
