Dear prospective students,

This message is to inform you of the main prerequisite for the Mathematics course at LBS.

The prerequisite is the the Austrian Gymnasium Matura Level of Math-knowledge.

A recommendation for a self-study preparation for this course:

1) Schaum's Outline of College Algebra, 5th Edition (Schaum's Outline Series)

by Murray Spiegel, Robert Moyer;

2) David Guichard, Single and Multivariable Calculus (available on-line). Chapters

2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 ONLY!

During the first semester LBS offers a (voluntary) tutorial. In the course of this tutorial the
above material will be covered, exercises provided, Q&A-sessions held to make sure that
you will be prepared for the first Mathematics course at LBS that will take place in the 2nd
semester.
Even though the tutorial will be offered, we highly recommend to go through the self-
study material before-hand and have specific questions during the tutorial, to ensure your
success.
