Notification for Admission in Vedanga Jyotisha Courses

2023-25 (Distance Mode)
Applications are invited for admission to B.A ,M.A.,Ph.D., in Vedanga Jyotisha
(Distance Mode) Courses of Yoga Samskrutham University, Florida, uSÁfor the
academic years 2023 - 25 from eligible students.
The information about the Courses is furnished below.

Minimum Age limit -18 years for allVedanga Jyotisha Courses

Mode of Education for all the Courses: Online - Distance
Students should be able to study the study material provided by the University and or other suggested
books on the course subjects.

Hyderabad Regional Office willbe the Regional Study Centre for all the students of University courses
hailing from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Medium of the Courses: Telugu & English
I. Bachelor of Arts in Vedanga Jyotisha (BAVJ)
Course Duration: 18 Months (3 Semesters - 18 Modules +Assignment)
Minimum Educational Qualifications:

a) Intermediate or PUC or any certificate/diploma course in Astrology from approved Astrology

teaching institution.
b)OR any one of the following
1. SSC (10h Class pass) + 5 years of practical experience as an Astrologer (as teacher or
practitioner).
2. 10 years of practical experience as an Astrologer
3. Bonafide/Study certificate from any approved Veda Paata Shaala
4. Reference letter from eminent Astrologers or from approved Astrology teaching institution.
Course Fees: Rs.6,000/- per semester,- Total: Rs.18,000/- Can be paid in Instalments
II, Master of Arts in Vedanga Jyotisha (MAVJ)
Course Duration: Two years (Four Semisters)
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
a) Bachelor of Artsin Vedanga Jyotisha (BAVJ) OR
b) Diploma in Astrology from a recognised University OR
c) SSC with minimum more than 10 years of experience as Astrologer (Teaching/Counselling)
Course Fees: Rs.6000/- per Semister - Total: Rs.24,000/- Can be paid in Instalments
Students can opt for Integrated Doctoral Programme (MAVJ+PhD) also.
I. Doctoral Programme (PhD) in Vedanga Jyotisha
Course Duration: Two years
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
a) Master of Arts in Vedanga Jyotisha (MAVJ) OR
b) MA. in Astrology from a recognised University OR

Admission Procedure:

1.The interested resident Indian students should submit application in the prescribed format
confirming the acceptance of terms and conditions and by remiting the prescribed fee through online
only.
2.ID cards will be issued to the registered students.
3.Qualifying age: Applicants should have attained the age of 18 years as on the date of their
application for all the courses.
4.Supporting documents (copy of originals) regarding the age and address (SSC certificate, Passpot
Copy or Aadhar Card or PAN Card), and the educational qualifications shall be attached with the
application.

General Rules and Examination Procedure

1.Students registered for a course shall compulsorily attend its online contact classes which willbe
held in Telugu and English, as per aSchedule decided and communicated to the registered students
by the Regional Office, Hyderabad.
Students should have necessary infrastructure/ electronic gadgets to attend the online classes.
2. Regional Study Centre will furnish list of books to be referred by the students to prepare for the
University Course Examination/s. Study notes willbe provided during the contact classes period.
3.The Module wise/ Semester wise examinations will be conducted with a notification to all the
registered students.
4.The Examination will be held either in designated Centre/s or online and the same will be duly
notified to all the registered students on their latest addresses on record.

5.The registered students, who attended the contact classes and certified to be eligible by Indian
Forum of Yoga Samskrutham University, willbe allowed to submit the Examination application on
payment of applicable Examination Fees. On accepting their Examination application, they will be
issued HallTickets (either hard copy or soft copy) for taking the Examination on the notified time, date
and place.
6.Any student found to be involved in illegal acts or using unfair means in the examinations or
reported to be misbehaving will not be allowed to take the examination and he/she may be debarred
from the Course with due notice.

7.Students shall be permitted to carry over if any Paper is not cleared in the Course Examination.
However, they should clear the backlog within maximum two years from the end of Second Year of
their registration for the Course. Effectively, the course registration is valid for 4 years from the date of
registration.

8.The minimum passing marks in the examination is 40% in each paper. First and Second class will
be declared for scoring marks over 60% and 50% respectively. Student passing with Distinction (80%)
shall be awarded DISTINCTION CERTIFICATE at the time of Convocation.

9 Viva-Voce will be conducted for MAVJ at the end of Fourth Semester on the day of presenting
Project WNork.
10. Any change in contact address and telephone number should be intimated immediately to the
concerned Course Coordinator/ Regional Study Centre whenever such changes take place.
11.The rules,regulations, procedures relevant to the course can be altered without any notice and at
sole discretion of Yoga Samskrutham University Florida, USA without affecting the already registered
students of their privileges.

12.Legal disputes if any shall come under the jurisdiction of Courts in Hyderabad City. Ignorance of
law is not an excuse.
