4. FIRST-AID MEASURES

INHALATION:
Remove to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if not breathing.
Give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Call a physician.
SKIN CONTACT:
For exposure to liquid, immediately warm frostbite area with warm water (not to exceed 40deg.C).
In case of massive exposure, remove clothing while showering with warm water. Call a physician.
EYE CONTACT:
In case of splash contamination, immediately flush eyes thoroughly with warm water for at least 15
minutes. Seek the advice of a physician, preferably an ophthalmologist, immediately.
SWALLOWING:
This product is a gas at normal temperature and pressure.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

• Suitable extinguishing media:

Sulfur Hexafluoride cannot catch fire. Use dry chemical, foam, or water spray as
appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.
• Unsuitable extinguish media/methods: none
• Combustion product or gases:
This product is non-flammable. However, if involved in a fire or if overheated, there is a
risk of generation of toxic degradation products such as hydrogen fluoride, fluorides and
sulfur oxides..
• Special Fire Fighting Procedures
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in confined areas or when exposed to combustion
products.
• Additional information

Evacuate all personnel from danger area. Immediately deluge containers with water spray
from maximum distance until cool, and then move containers away from fire area if
without risk. Container may rupture due to heat of fire. No part of a container should be
subjected to a temperature higher than 40deg.C. Most containers are provided with a
