As a way of protecting and promoting the rights of all citizens to quality education , the Department of
Education have been implementing different programs and services. Identify and give a brief description
of three DepEd programs and services which are deemed appropriate for the holistic development of the
learners.

1. Basic Education Facilities (BEF) refers to the yearly budget allocated by the Department of
Education for its School Building Program. This program focuses on enhancing and maintaining
school facilities. The BEF budget is used for various purposes, such as constructing new
classrooms and workshop buildings, replacing old and deteriorating structures, providing
furniture, repairing and rehabilitating classrooms (including heritage buildings), and ensuring
access to essential amenities like water and sanitation facilities and electrification. Essentially,
BEF funds aim to create a conducive learning environment for students by improving and
expanding school infrastructure.

2. New School Personnel Positions program aims to address the growing enrollment levels in public
schools across the country. Its primary goals are to achieve a better balance between the
number of teachers and the number of students, improve the quality of education, and reduce the
workload of school personnel. This program benefits all public schools and students by ensuring
that the teacher-to-student ratio is at an optimal level, ultimately enhancing the learning
experience for everyone.

3. Learning Tools and Equipment-Science & Math Equipment (LTE-SME) program is designed to
supply public schools and learning centers with comprehensive sets of science and mathematics
equipment. It seeks to address the shortage of such equipment and ensure that these institutions
meet the needs of the K to 12 Curriculum. In essence, LTE-SME aims to equip schools with the
necessary tools and materials to enhance the teaching and learning of science and math
subjects, thereby improving the educational experience for students.

Align the different issuances of the Department of Education on Mother Tongue-Based Multi Lingual
Education with the provisions contained in Section 7 of Article XIV of the Philippine Constitution.

In the academic year 2012-2013, the Department of Education took a significant step by launching the
Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) program, a landmark initiative that was
mandated for adoption across all public schools. This program places special emphasis on the early
stages of a student's education, primarily targeting kindergarten as well as grades 1, 2, and 3.
The introduction of MTB-MLE marks a pivotal educational approach with multifaceted significance. One
of its central objectives is to instill in students a profound understanding of the pivotal role their mother
tongue plays in their overall learning and identity. By offering instruction in the language spoken in their
homes and communities, MTB-MLE not only facilitates more effective learning but also preserves and
promotes linguistic diversity and cultural heritage. This approach fosters linguistic competence, cognitive
development, and a deeper sense of cultural connection among students, thereby enhancing their overall
educational experience.

Show concrete instances (according to your area of specialization in teaching ) where the concepts and
processes of “indigenization” and “localization” can be aligned with the provisions contained in Sections
14 – 18 of Article XIV of the Philippine Constitution.

According to Sections 14-18 of Article XIV of the Philippine Constitution, it is stated that they want
everyone to be able to express themselves freely through art and thinking. It should also be supported by
the State to save, promote, and make known the history and culture of the Filipinos.

As a student specializing in Mathematics, I also want everyone to use their creativity in our subject. To
achieve this, I will implement an activity that focuses on art and culture or have them participate in a math
field trip that discusses its history.

Using the provisions contained in Section 19 of Article XIV of the Philippine Constitution as your frame of
reference , make an analysis of the Sports Program in your school.

I attend Gordon College, where they diligently implement Section 19 of Article XIV of the Philippine
Constitution. The college ensures that all students take Physical Education courses, where they learn
about the rules and regulations of various sports and also actively participate in games on the court or
designated venues. Currently, Gordon College is actively participating in the national games, specifically
the 12th LCUAA National Games 2023, where students are competing against students from other
schools.
