This performance for Tuba and electronics is accomplished in three stages.

It is conceived for a live presentation as well as an online streaming transmission.

A pair of candles (+ lighter or matches ) -laptop on – (with yt video playing silenced on the background, no need to display it)

-telephone pickup over the laptop (sound to speaker )
-optional microphone for tuba (sound to zoom receiver)
_Tuba sound production techniques:

ordinario sound – the normal technique

Flatterzungen, fluttertongue – with rolling ‘r’ or with throat

Air sound – blown audibly through the instrument

Air sound pronouncing letters continuously [F, SH, S, G, J, H, R, F]

Kissing sound – lips tight, sucking air, producing an audible friction on the mouthpiece

Saliva sound - sucking air through the instrument with a bit of saliva inside the mouth

– by using these Tuba sound production techniques and listening the electromagnetic
sounds transmitted by the telephone pickup: imitate, accompany and dialogue with them.
– do the same for each phrase, removing the correspondent sheet on the top and revealing
the next one under.
– stop, turn off the candles with air from Tuba and play the melody freely a couple of
times.
