**ICT OPENING RANGE CONCEPT**

An in depth study with real data

Cheat codes for trading. A thread...

#ict #innercircletrader #trading #forex #futurestrading

1/

In Month 10 of ICT Core Content, ICT says that the

high or low of the New York Session (9:30am-4:00pm)
will *usually* form between 9:30-10:30am on indices.

Is that true?

2/
I backtested this theory using real data from 2022 S&P
futures contracts (ESH2022, ESM2022, ESU2022,
ESZ2022).

The results are very surprising...

3/

In the first quarter of 2022, the high or low of the NY

session was formed in the Opening Range (9:30-
10:30am) an amazing 69% (nice) of the time.

4/
In the second quarter (I say quarter, but I am using
effective futures contract dates as you can see in the
picture), the high or low was formed in the Opening
Range 72.3% of the time!

5/

In the third quarter, the high or low of the NY session

was formed an unbelievable 80.3% of the time!!

6/
In the fourth quarter, 72.3% of the time, the high or low
of the NY session was formed in the Opening Range.

By the way, thanks to @galaxytradespa for helping me

backtest this data.

So, what are the end results

7/
Over the course of 2022, the Opening Range formed
the high or low of the NY session 73.33% of the time.
That is a pretty astounding statistic.

This Opening Range Concept can be applied in many

ways to increase your win rate and help with your
trading bias.
