I always believe that you should never slip up on an opportunity that occurs to you the second time

around. Right now, here I am, facing the opportunity I was talking about and conquering the doubts and
concerns I had before that stopped me from grabbing this moment. To the reader of this piece, a
pleasant day to you. I believe you're lucky to have the chance to get to know a lady whose passions are
burning, an unwavering energy around her really testifying that she deserves to be a part of this
majestic family. Once again, hello! I am Angelica Joy Yap, a Grade 12 student under the St. Joan of Arc
section taking the academic track of Accountancy, Business, and Management. I am finally writing this to
prove that I can be an asset to this organization and a soul who's ready to face any activities thrown at
me with or without pressure.

Since I was still in elementary school, I have never closed a door for myself in the field of writing. I
always participated in creating literary pieces, including poems, and represented our school back then in
an essay contest during the Tuklas ng Talino event hosted by the Girls Scouts of the Philippines back last
2017, tackling current issues here in our country. Through my representation of essay writing, it became
my source of pride, where I was able to bring myself to the division level to represent our municipality
with pride and passion to show my ability to be an instrument of change and the voice of the voiceless.
Since then, I have never lost my passion for writing, for writing can be a very powerful instrument to
bring people together, to create unity, to create peace, and a tool for inspiration for those who are at
their lowest points in life. That's why, right now, the hermits have opened a door for me to continue the
passion and ability I had, and who I am, I cannot reject this opportunity twice.

As I was thinking of the position I want to be in this organization, I was simply dreaming of becoming a
writer. Based on my credentials, writing became my forte to create a beautiful and inspirational piece
for young readers. I believe I was given this ability to write and the mind to think widely in order to help
and inspire people—readers, to be exact—on how life must go on and that they can be whoever they
want to be. Clearly, my existence in the writing world was to be a reminder that everyone should never
let others dictate who they will be, control their actions, and be mum about everything.

And if I am given a bigger chance, I would also want to explore the world of becoming a news editor.
Since I am very certain that I belong in this field, I also feel that I matter. I was always inclined toward
the news, and I always see myself as a person who's very excited to watch and hear the latest news in
our country, to be updated, and to be aware of the current situation of our country, including its primary
issues. That's why I want to be a news editor: to be able to share my knowledge and give updated and
reliable news to every student of SAACI. Because I am also a victim of false accusations, being a part of
this group would let me help everyone avoid the same situation I had before and be a student who is
knowledgeable and aware of everything that's happening around this school. And as a member of the
SSG organization, I think it would be a factor that could make me a very good option to become a news
editor, since, as the SSG President, I am also an advocate of "No to False Accusations and Fake News".
And I want our school to be an aware and updated environment for students, administration, and the
faculty and staff, may it be related to school-related topics, environmental issues, or national issues.

Sharing my past experiences and my own perceptions on this matter are the ones who would justify me
being a part of this family. It may be my first time on this school publication journey, but I am certain
that I could bring so much of what was instilled in me by my past mentors and my experiences in life. I
also believe that this is not a one-person journey; instead, it is a collaborative action between different
writers who wanted to bring, unite, and update people with a publication. This will definitely be part of
my book as one of my memorable journeys in high school, and I am hoping that there could be a chance
for me to prove my words and take action. Thank you for reading this piece. It was truly a wonderful
time to share who I am and what I am capable of.
