Lesson The Magic Wheel!
The teacher will present a magic wheel with names of her students. She will spin the
wheel, and the name that will be pointed by the arrow will pick a question inside the
box and answer it. The sample questions are:
 What is matter?
 Differentiate matter to non-matter.
 What are the three states of matter?

B. Establishing a ENGAGE
purpose for the Lesson Who wants to be a millionaire, the localized version!
The teacher will present a game entitled “Who wants to be a millionaire, the localized
version”. She will ask her students to put their right hands under their chin, then they
will hit the arm of the chair in front of them if they want to answer. The one who hit the
arm fastest will answer the question. After getting the right answer, the first letter of the

concepts and practicing Do Particles of Matter Move? Relay Edition
New skill #1 For better understanding, the teacher will conduct an experiment entitled “Do Particles
of Matter Move?”. The teacher will prepare 3 stations wherein each of the students will
go one by one at each station. After doing the procedure in the given station, the will
move to another station until they finish doing it all. The teacher will give only one
minute to do the task in every station. Then, the students will answer the guide
questions and present it after.

Station 1
Procedures
Pull the plunger of the syringe until it reaches the 20 mL mark.
Cover tightly the tip of the syringe with your thumb.
Q1. Can you push the plunger?
Q2. Do you think there is space between particles of a gas inside the syringe? How do
you say so?

Cover tightly the tip of the syringe with your thumb.
Q1. Can you push the plunger?
Q2. Do you think there is space between particles of a liquid inside the syringe? How do
you say so?
Transfer the 20 mL water from the plastic syringe to a transparent glass.
Q3. Is the shape of water changed?

Station 3
Procedures
D. Place a silver spoon in an empty cup, then, transfer it to the dinner plate.
Q1. Does the shape of the spoon change?
Q2. Do you think there is space between particles of a spoon? How do you say so?

Concepts and Space Between Us
practicing skill # 2 Based on the activity that students had earlier, the teacher will ask her students to
illustrate the arrangement of the particles of Solid, Liquid, and Gas using the graphic
tablet provided to them. Student # 1 will illustrate the particles of solid, student #2 will
illustrate the particles of liquid, and student # 3 will illustrate the particles of the gas.
Then, they will explain their work after.

assessment) This time, the students will silently watch a 2-minute video about the arrangement and
movement of the particles of solid, liquid, and gas. Then, the teacher will call some of
her students to answer the following questions:
1. What can you say about the arrangement of the particles of solid, liquid, and
gas?
2. Describe the movement and spaces of the particles of solid, liquid, and gas.
