Book Analysis

The story starts from the scene in the Golden Gate Park, USA, California.
Author was standing in the kitchen,when he suddenly got a call from his friend
Rahim Khan from Pakistan.
Author mention that it wasn’t just Rahim Khan, it was a sin from his past,reading this
i can deduce that he done something, that still, after long years hurts him.In first two
chapter author is not speaking about accident that happened in the past, and i think
that we will be aware of that, reading the next chapter of the book.
Author also mention the winter of 1975 that changed his life.And made him what he
is today.
In my opinion the beginning was very entertaining, it has an uncovered mystery that
makes us read the book to know what it is about.
He starts telling us about his childhood, when Hassan (his friend) and Amir(author)
were climbing the trees and reflecting the sunlight into their neighbors house with
mirrors, he tells us this story to show his friendship with Hassan, to show that
everything was good, nothing happened yet.
Amir’s father Baba was very rich and had the most beautiful house in whole district,
with broad entryway flanked by rose bushes,
Marble floors etc…
He speaks about Baba’s <<smoking room>>, where Baba and his friend were having
parties, discussing politics, soccer, business.
Amir was forbidden from entering that room and when Baba’s friends came together
Amir was sitting behind the door, knees drawn to his chest.This moment shows that
he was lonely because his mother died giving birth and his father was not giving
enough attention to him.
While they were so rich, Hassan and his father were living in the small servant’s hut,
in the corner of a big garden.
Hassan's mother was a notoriously unscrupulous woman who lived to her
dishonorable reputation.
As Hassan’s mother eloped and Amir’s mother died, Baba hired the same nanny to
take care of that two.Baba was rich, but he hired only one nanny.In my opinion it was
done to make Amir and Hassan close friends and to cordon off the boys who would
be friends with Amir only for money.
Than Amir is telling us about discrimination of Shi’ a Muslims,
Bullying of people that had some disease ,physical problems etc…
Author mentions the winter of 1975 and second chapter ends there.
To sum up the first two chapter were entertaining and mysterious
we will be aware of future plot developments when we’ll read next chapters.
