Instructions in filling up the SOP Matrix

1. From the Title, formulate your General Objective by just restating it to become your general objective. Ensure that the
elements of a good title such as subject matter, population and locale are present in the title.

Ex. Generally, this study aims to…

2. From the general Objective, formulate your Specific Objectives, the number of SO is dependent on how well you have
translated the general objective into specific objectives. Ensure principle of parallelism, it means that your specific objective
when answered will contribute to the realization of the general objective.
3. For Column 3, identify the type of data you will gather based on your specific objectives at the same time identify as well the
data collection technique you will use to gather the desired data.

4. Lastly, for Column 4, you will have to identify your data sources or informants for all the primary and secondary data you will
gather.

5. When all the columns are filled up, evaluating the feasibility of your target research can now be easily done by your Thesis
instructor as well as your Advisory/Guidance Committee members.
