Steam Engines

By: Mustafa Omer 8-B

Steam Engines were one of the first engines manufactured in the past.
The first commercially available Steam engines were
invented in 1712 by Thomas Newcomen. Steam
engines used wood or other fossil-originated fuel
product and water to generate kinetic power. Basically,
The Fuel warmed up the water which turned into steam
, the pressure of the steam makes the pistons go back &
forth , then the back&forth moving pistons turn the
wheels or whatsoever. In other words, A steam engine
is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using
steam as its working fluid.

The main use of Steam engines is present in Steam engine-based Trains such as ;
-In 1825, Stephenson built Locomotion No. 1 for the Stockton and Darlington Railway,
north-east England, which was the first public steam railway in the world.
It has also been used in steam engine-based boats, factories & mines.
Steam Engine helped industrial revolution in many ways such as;
- It helped the machines to run labor-free , The moving job that was done by human
hands was revolutionized to be turned by Steam Engines. This also helped factories so
that they don’t have to build factory near water to receive water power.
After several years went by Steam engines also helped the industry revolutionize in this
sense that they didn’t have to use animals or human-based transport service but they
used steam engines-based vehicles to transport their good.
After all, Steam engines were a very useful invention.
