II. Summary

A security researcher said that hackers stole the email addresses of more than 200 million
Twitter users and posted them on an online hacking forum, from UK. According to lon Gal, co-
founder of Israeli cybersecurity firm Hudson Rock, the breach will probably result in a lot of
hacking, targeted phishing, and doxxing. Gal first posted about the story on social media on
December 24, and Twitter has sadly not responded to any inquiries concerning the breach made
after that day. What efforts, if any, Twitter has done to look into or fix the issue remain unknown.
There were no indications as to who or where the hacker(s) that carried out the attack were. Before
Elon Musk seized control of the company last year, it may have happened as early as 2021.

III. Reaction

Cybersecurity may be significantly impacted by a huge number of stolen phone and email
addresses. According to Karpskery Lab., cybersecurity hacking may have devastating effects.
Hackers may steal your money and establish credit card and bank accounts in your name using
whatever method they want once they get access to your data or devices. They may also sell your
information to third parties that will misuse it. Obtain sensitive personal information, share it
publicly, or threaten to do so. But until now, the hacking events still not confirm due to
unresponsiveness of Twitter about this issue. Still, whether it's true or not, it cannot be ignored.
