 What is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)

-WYSIWYG (pronounced wiz-ee-wig) is a type of editing software that allows users to see and
edit content in a form that appears as it would when displayed on an interface. Webpage, slide
presentation or printed document. WYSIWYG is an acronym for “what you see is what you get”

 What is an HTML?

- HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is a text based approach to describing

how content contained within an HTML file is structured. This markup tells a web
browser how to display text, image and other forms of multimedia on webpage.

 What is a CSS?

- Cascading Styles Sheets is a style sheet language used for describing the
presentation of a document written in a markup language such as HTML or
XML CSS is a cornerstones technology of the World Wide Web, alongside
HTML and JavaScript.

 What is the SEO?

- SEO means (Search Engine Optimization ) and is the process used to
optimized a website’s technical configuration, content relevance and link
popularity so its pages can become easily findable, more relevant and popular
towards user search queries, and as a consequence, search engines rank them
better.

 What are the advantages and disadvantages of WYSIWYG editor?

ADVANTAGES OF WYSIWYG

1. It is great fun to create web pages this way. You can do it yourself, experimenting with colors
and layouts. The web page is likely to be unique, unless you are trying to clone another web
page. You can stretch your imagination.
2. It is faster and easier to create web pages. You can make changes to a page layout by simply
dragging the objects to their new positions.
3. You can make changes to content (text or images) in WYSIWYG editor, instead of searching for
and inserting between HTML tags, or using a complex content management system.
4. WYSIWYG software runs on any windows computer.
5. You can also create background images on the fly.

DISADVANTAGES OF WYSIWY
1. HTML editors often create an excessive code that makes the web page bulky in size. This leads
to a slower download of the page which is uncomfortable and tiring for users.
2. The importance of image ALT attribute is not explicitly pointed out by WYSIWYG editors as
well as the heading tags of a web page. If these aspects are missed, it will complicate the
website’s recognition by search engines.
3. Some editors allow using “browser specific HTML tags” that are suitable for specific browsers
and ignored by the rest. However, such tags are also usually not compliant with the HTML
standards set by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
4. HTML tables to layout a page are an old technique that is displaced by Cascading Style Sheets.

 What is the difference between your Word Press blog and your Canva?
- Canva is primarily a graphic design platform that allows users to create designs for a variety of
purposes, including social media posts, presentations, and websites. Canva offers pre-designed
templates that users can customize and use to create a website quickly. However, the
functionality of a Canva website is limited compared to a WordPress website, and it is mainly
used for creating simple websites.
WordPress, on the other hand, is a popular content management system (CMS) used for creating
complex and robust websites. WordPress offers a wide range of features and customization
options, making it ideal for creating websites of all kinds, including blogs, e-commerce websites,
and corporate websites. WordPress has a vast library of plugins and themes that allow users to
add functionality to their websites, making them more dynamic and user-friendly.
In summary, Canva websites are primarily used for creating simple websites quickly, while
WordPress is a powerful CMS that offers a wide range of customization options, making it ideal
for creating complex and robust websites.

They don’t try to sell you on special upgrade options or higher-priced plans you don’t need. In
fact, they don’t have any of those things.
They offer a single plan, which includes everything the average website owner requires. If you’re
looking for a low-cost option, this is definitely worth considering. Not only is their price and
features competitive, but for the first year they typically provide substantial discounts.

2.SITE BUILDER– In order to move your site to another host and pick up where you left off, you would need the
new host to have the exact same builder software; and your old host would need to provide the backup of your site
in the proprietary format that the builder uses so that the new host can have the files restored exactly as they were
before. This usually requires that you have access to the site’s files. This is the primary reason that professionally
built websites are not made on builder programs.
