It is time again to celebrate another day commemorating the
birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, tagged Christmas
For a quick reminder, after man lost that golden opportunity
of having an intimate and uninterrupted relationship with God
in the garden of Eden, God then planned out a way to bring
back such lost relationship between HIM and man. This HE did
by sending HIS only begotten son – John 3:16 - For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. and offered Him as a sacrificial lamb in order
to reconcile man back to HIMSELF.
– Rom. 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God; We are inherently sinners because we are part of
Adam's race and we entered this world with a sin nature,
inherited from our human father. The Old Man' as the Bible
calls it. Sin is an intrinsic part of every man and woman, which
cannot be denied, and bars us from fellowship with our
Creator God (God abhors iniquity). Nothing holy or good can
ever emanate from our 'Old Man', for that old sin nature is
infected forever with sin. Our 'Old Man' can do nothing to
please our heavenly Father.
The price for our sins was paid at the cross - removing forever
the PENALTY of sin, which is death. Christ paid that death-
penalty so that our past, present and future sins would be
forever forgiven and remembered no more. The POWER of sin
was also broken at the cross for we were given a new nature
Christ - and we became a 'New Creation' in Him. And it is our
'New-Life-in-Christ' that must grow in grace and be conformed
into the image and likeness of Jesus
1John 1:8 - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
We were imputed with the life of Christ when we were born
again and the power of our 'Old Man' was severed at the
cross.. so that in Christ.. we have the power to say no to sin
and in Christ (but it is a free-will choice).. we have the power
to resist the devil (but it is a free-will choice). In Christ we
receive the power to turn from our former worldly ways, our
fleshly actions and our ungodly pursuits.. that came from our
old sin nature (but it is a free-will choice). Rom. 6:23 - For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So why should we celebrate his birth?
We rejoice and celebrate that unto us a Child is born, unto us
a Son is given, who is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
Jesus, who is God, came in the flesh to dwell among us (Jhn
1:14). He died to pay for the penalty for our sins and rose
again to conquer death and hell.
But Jesus is the reason not only for the Christmas season.
Jesus is the reason and hope in every season. The birth of this
only begotten son of God is worth’s celebrating even when the
actual date is not known.
What is the season?
It is a season of love and sacrificial giving as seen in what the
almighty God did to mankind. The love here is not in the
context of the world's definition of love, but according to the
definition given to it as stated in 1 Cor 13.
Reason for the season
As started in the introductory part of this study, the reason for
the season is basic to reconcile man back to God, to give life to
the lifeless, and to bring light to the dark of the world. John 1 :
4 & 5 - In him was life; and the life was the light of men.5
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.; Luke 19:10 - For the Son of man is
come to seek and to save that which was lost.
We see a scriptural example from Mark 2:5-11. In the city of
Capernaum, where a lame man was brought into the house
where Jesus was and He said to him – “Son your sins are
forgiven.” Then, in order to demonstrate to the doubting and
chagrined scribes that he had the authority to forgive the
man’s sins, he said to the crippled gentleman, “Arise, and take
up your bed, and go to your house.
It is disheartening these days that many have been using the
season for their own selfish interest.
Brethren, though this season calls for huge celebration for
what God has done and still doing in our lives, but at the same
time calls for sober reflection. It is a time one should sincerely
ask him/her self question like "are mine really and truly
connected to God considering my ways of life"?
Brethren as we are celebrating this Christmas, let's do so with the
assurance of our sure relationship with God. Let brotherly and
sisterly love continues towards all people especially to those in the
household of faith. Having opportunity to met those in dare needs,
don't let us hesitate in making such happy, who knows, you might
be using that mean in winning souls to the Kingdom of God.
Remember as the day passes by, the world is gradually coming to an
end, we must prepare for eternity any time any day and not be
carried away in the euphoria of the celebration.
A Kingdom where Jesus Christ reigns as King forever is our heritage.
I pray that the grace to make it into the Kingdom of God at the end of
everything here on earth shall be released unto us so that our celebrations
will not be in vain in Jesus mighty name, amen.
What so ever you are looking unto God for, before the end of this year, you
are coming to share the testimony.
As you have defiled the weather to attend this carol service this night,
nothing defiles your body any more in the name of Jesus.

As you have giving God his food tonight, you will never lack food in your
house in Jesus name
Everything you have asked God for since the beginning of this year, as you
have given God his own food, they are becoming a testimony for you in
Jesus name.
The kind of blessing that has never entered your house before, the kind of
blessing you cannot imagine, as you have given God his food tonight, they
are yours in the name of Jesus.
