What is the purpose of building the Suramadu Bridge?

The construction of this bridge is aimed at accelerating development on Madura Island,

covering infrastructure and the economy in Madura which is relatively lagging behind
compared to other areas in East Java Province. The construction of this bridge was carried out
from three sides, both the Bangkalan and Surabaya sides
