Rule Book

NOTE: In case of any discrepancies or dispute, the decision of the organising team will
be final, abiding and indisputable.

Disclaimer: The entire plot is a work of fiction, none of the events are based on real life
incidents. All the clues have been revised and verified by the members of LEO Club, BIT
Mesra.

GENERAL FLOW OF THE EVENT

● The event is based on the treasure hunt model. The teams will encounter two types of
clues: LOCATION and CHARACTER clues.
● All teams are advised to go through the plot thoroughly to be able to solve the character
clues.
● The location based clues will indicate to some location within the campus. The character
based clues will indicate to some character name within the plot.
● The plot and the first location clue will be shared to the team leader’s email ID before the
commencement of the event.
● After solving the first location clue, the teams will have to reach the location (the answer
to the clue) where they will receive a character clue. After correctly solving the character
clues, the teams will receive the clue for the next location and some pieces of
information and hints which will help them identify the murderer.
● The above process will continue until the teams solve all the location and character
clues.
● After the completion of all the clues, the teams need to report at the helpdesk. The
teams would need to assess all the pieces of information shared to them at various
locations and thereafter, they would be required to ask for the medical report of any 3
characters whom they suspects of the murder.
 ● Finally, a google form would be provided to the team leader to fill in the name of the
character whom they have concluded to be the murderer with an explanation.
● NOTE: For character clues, the answer to the clue may not necessarily be the
name of the character. Therefore, when stating the answer, the name of the
character along with a brief description of how you linked the clue with the
character should be given to the Leo volunteer.
● Participants must provide the FULL NAME OF THE CHARACTER to the volunteer
based on the plot. Wrong/mixed up name and surnames/only surname or first
name won’t be treated as the correct answer.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
● All teams are requested to thoroughly go through the plot.
● All the shortlisted teams need to assemble at the designated venue. Teams which will
reach late would face a penalty of points deduction/
● Team Leaders must report at least 20 minutes before the commencement of the event
for the verification process at the helpdesk.
● Participating teams must have a QR Scanner App with them since all the teams would
be provided the clues in a QR Code form.
● Teams are required to provide the screenshot of the whole document of the clue to the
Leo Club volunteers. If the document is cropped/found to be tampered with, it won’t
be entertained by the volunteers. (Make sure the screenshot is of the whole
document, and not cropped)
● All teams are required to make sure the images of the Pieces of information and Hints
captured by them are clear and proper. The teams will be provided the particular pieces
of information and hints only once, when they would successfully solve the character
clue. No requests of re-capturing will be entertained.
● The team leaders must make sure that all the members of their team are present at the
venue. The volunteers might verify the presence of all the team members.
 ● Teams are not allowed to distribute their members across locations. This would count as
malpractice and unfair means, and the team would be disqualified.
● Participants must make sure that they ask for the piece of information and hints after
solving the character clues.
● All the clues have been revised and verified by the Organising team, and therefore
participants are requested to not indulge in any kind of disputes or quarreling with the
volunteers.
● Use of bicycles or any vehicle to travel from one location to another is not allowed. Any
such activity which might give a team an unfair advantage would not be allowed.
● At all locations, the teams would be served on a First Come First Serve basis. All
teams are requested to be patient with the volunteers and cooperate with them.
● The team leader should be present with the entire team.
● Only the team leader should line up at the location for the verification of clues as well as
for collecting pieces of information to avoid chaos and crowding.
● In case of any malpractice, the organizing team bears the right to disqualify the particular
team.
● In case of any dispute, the decision of Leo Club would be final and undisputable.
