THE INSPECTION AND QUALITY CONTROL OF CONCRETE AT THE MANUFACTURER PLANT

Content of quality processes

1.1 Quality control of input materials

1.1.1 Cement

Before receiving, the Technical and quality control Department technicians shall conduct checks
of the information of goods: (Catalog, specifications, state of preservation, factory quality
certificate, number etc.)

For each incoming batch (MFG batch), samples to be taken then sent to the laboratory for the
physical and mechanical tests including: compressive strength, fineness, standard viscosity,
setting time, consistency of the volume, specific weight ... simultaneously with providers to
make records, that samples to be sealed and stored at the Technical and quality control
Department for check for evidence if required

1.1.2 Gravel, sand

Before receiving, the Technical and quality control Department technicians shall conduct checks
of goods visually (dirt adhesion, particle size etc.), factory quality certificate, the number of
shipments

For each incoming batch (MFG batch), samples to be taken then sent to the laboratory for the
physical and mechanical tests including: particle composition, specific gravity, volumetric
quantity, mud clay content, compressive strength, porosity volumetric quantity, flat lozenge
content, ... simultaneously with providers to make records, that samples to be sealed and
stored at the Technical and quality control Department for check for evidence if required

For incoming chippings on the basis of experimental results at the warehouse, they will be
classified based on grain size and intensity of the original stones for the production of concrete
for each project with different techniques as required

2.2 Concrete mix design

To manufacture the commercial concrete daily or upon request of the customer on the
concrete mix design with technical requirements for each work, the Company shall work with
specialized laboratories for concrete mix design and following steps below:

• Sampling of materials on request that must be sent to laboratory for tests to determine the
physical and mechanical data to provide input for aggregates design calculations and evaluation
of materials quality whether to be in line with the technical requirements or not
• Perform calculations and mix of aggregate that was calculated, as well as the experiments
(Slump, volumetric quantity, etc.) and casts to be provided to test the compressive strength at
lab or cast samples for compressive strength at concrete mixing stations in the presence of the
parties involved

• Records of cement test results and concrete mix design component to be provided to the
customer

2.3 Test of moisture of materials (stone, sand) periodically from time to time in the day,
adjusting the composition ratio of manufactured aggregate concrete. Concrete quality control
during production

Before each production shift and periodically, every hour concrete production, the Technical
and quality control Department shall send officials to conduct sampling for experiments to
determine the moisture content of aggregates (sand and stone). Based on the experimental
results, to adjust aggregates to be provided for the station’s operation and to deactivate the old
aggregates

2.4 Sampling – test of samples- Check the quality of concrete in the field – keeping record of
concrete quality

2.4.1 To measure slump - Check of concrete standards under the contract

As concrete trucks come to construction site, the Technical and quality control Department
staff shall conduct slump test for each vehicle and other experiments as provided under the
contract

2.4.2 Sampling, cast samples and records to be made at the construction site

To provide clients with concrete, the Technical and quality control Department staff shall
conduct sampling and concrete cast samples to comply with ISO 3105: 1993 in the presence of
contractors and supervising consultant. The number of cast samples shall comply with ISO
4453:1995 or with technical requirements of the project where applicable.

The information on sampling, cast samples must be recorded in cast Minutes that is signed by
the parties. Finished cast samples and cast shall be preserved by officials and sent to the
Technical and quality control Department for maintenance as prescribed

2.4.3 Experiments and records of concrete quality

The Technical and quality control Department staff shall monitor the project works assigned to
them, including:
- To monitor the concrete samples and suggestions to be provided to the Department Head for
experiments for test samples’ compression or to test for other technical requirements of
concrete under the contract

- Preservation and storage of concrete quality records in the right place as specified including:
intensity test results, aggregates design test results, aggregate testing

- The Technical and quality control Department Head or the person authorized shall inspect and
review procedures and quality records to be handed over to customers
