Jesus Healss Another Paralytic


By the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem, there is a pool where people afflicted with various
maladies would wait. It was known that an angel would sometimes come and stir the water in the
pool. Whoever got into the pool first got healed of whatever affliction he had. Blind, lame,
paralytic, and other sick people gathered in the place.
Among these people was a man who had been a paralytic for about 38 years. When the
water was stirred, he could never get into the water ahead of the others because of his condition.
When Jesus saw him, he remarked, “Stand up, take your mat and walk.” The man did as
he was told. He was totally healed!
