QI Comments

Good job on the edit! You were able to correct identified awkward words such as “diversities”, and
improve the flow of the paper. You gave a good quick tip on the LFTE.

Error categories

 Changes to the client’s original intended meaning

You have revised “ even under isolated conditions” to “even under isolation conditions”. This
has changed the author’s intended meaning as “isolation conditions” would be referring to
conditions where the cells where isolated versus “isolated conditions” that describes unique
conditions that may occur. When you are unsure of the revision, you can flag the sentence
with a comment for the author to address.

 Language errors

There were some cases wherein the form of the revised words do not really fit in the
sentence such as in “If the intracellular chemical reactions include multibody reactions, in
particular, catalytic reactions…” In particular should have been revised to particularly.

 Issues with comments

Some of the comments that you have written are too long and could be confusing.
Comments should be concise and straight forward to ensure that the author would
understand.

This comment: “Please avoid creating unusual abbreviations because they make a text
harder to read (well-known abbreviations such as DNA and official gene symbols are OK).
The only valid reason for creating an abbreviation is the following: an expression (4 or more
long words) that occurs more than 4 times in the text. Even in this case, it is better to avoid
abbreviating. It is easy to write in abbreviations but it is difficult to decipher such a text long
multiword”.

Better: “There is no need to abbreviate if it is only mentioned once in the entire text.”
