Alessio Carmignani

Wilmont’s Pharmacy drone delivery

09-29-2023

Project Description The scope of the project is to make a Prototype device from DroneTech to
Wilmont’s to establish drone delivery of drugs and prescriptions.
DroneTech will customize their drone systems, IT interfaces and business
structure to develop a seamless drone delivery system. Systems, business,
and communication interfacing will be done between the existing
infrastructure of DroneTech and Wilmont’s.
Project Purpose Changes of drones, interfacing systems and operations to demonstrate the
compability and suitability of DroneTech systems and technology with
realization of Wilmont’s innovative drug and prescriptions delivery project.
The prototype project must ensure seamless enhancement to the existing
delivery process of Wilmont’s to give Wilmont’s a green signal to move
ahead with drone delivery of their drugs and prescriptions. It will let
DroneTech to develop strong business relationship with Wilmont’s.
Wilmont’s will be a business pioneer in drone drug delivery and DroneTech
will gain market field by associating with Wilmont’s.
Scope/boundaries 1. The prototype project will be executed in San Francisco with four
participating pharmacies.
2. DroneTech will customize four drones and will handle flight
controls.
3. The online orders and business will be managed by Wilmont’s.
4. Apartment building customers are not included in the prototype
project.
Requirements 1. The customized flight systems, IT communications interface should
meet the standards set by Wilmont’s.
2. The drones will have Wilmont’s logo and colours and should have
temperature-controlled product bag system for the delivery and
bubble type cushioning system.
3. Online order entry, delivery confirmation for customers and
mobile app and communications needs to be interfaced so that
the customers are directed towards Wilmont’s IT infrastructure.
4. Overall cost of the prototype project should be less than 750.000$.
Deliverables/Objective Deliverables Success criteria
Drone with modified flight Should pass testing, able to transport
system and deliver temperature sensitive and
breakable packages.
Customized IT systems Should interface between existing IT
infrastructure of both the organizations
and direct customers toward
Wilmont’s.
Proposed contract and payment Should meet legal requirements and
plan follow the national law.
Business relationship Should not compromise the security of
Wilmont’s information, customer’s
privacy, proprietary information.
Schedule -Project start – 1st November 2023,

-First customer delivery flight – 1st December 2024,
-Project close/end – 1st March 2024.
Budget Maximum budget: 1.750.000$
Assumptions and The first constraint is the budget. Kempler stated that this project should
constraints not exceed 1.750.000$ for DroneTech. Therefore, planning the most
efficient and effective project flow with schedule is critical.
Project will start next November 1st and will have the first drone
operations before September 1st to avoid bad weather.
User training and other preparations will be required before for system
implantation.
There will participate to the prototyping activity four Wilmont’s stores and
four DroneTech’s drones, one for each store.
Project will be prototyped and tested in San Francisco, CA.
Risks A significant amount of money to repair drone delivery. Another risk is
having a Pharmacy staff handle the drones which could result in human
error in many cases. The third high risk is the security of privacy of
customers and the proprietary information. If this is not monitored and
secured this also could lead to a failure in the project and ultimately lack of
credibility in future projects.
References DroneTech engineering has performed as similar task for another company
in the past, this is the reason why DroneTech already has the specialized
delivery system and approximated maximum cost based on previous
projects.
