Candidates A and B
In Part 4 they answered the questions
appropriately but didn’t give much information
about why they liked certain hobbies or why they
would like to do a new hobby. They did look at
each other and one candidate said ‘Yes, I agree’
to show he was listening to what his partner was
saying. The other candidate tended to give her
opinion and then look back at the examiner for
the next question instead of waiting to see if her
partner had anything else to say.
Candidates C and D
In Part 4 they answered the questions
appropriately and extended their answers by
giving information about why they liked certain
hobbies or why they would like to do a new
hobby. When they discussed questions, they
looked at each other and showed they were
listening to each other by commenting on their
partner’s opinions. They used a good range of
language to show that they agreed or disagreed.
