Heidi’s Saturday Hat

Materials: Worsted weight cotton

Hooks: H, I, J
Yarn needle
Stitch Marker
Sewing needle and thread (optional for flower)

Gauge: 4 inches = 4 clusters

Note:
Pattern is worked in the round. Place a stitch marker
into the first stitch of each round or leave a long tail
in the beginning and use it as a stitch marker by
laying it after the last stitch of the previous round
(if necessary).

All sizes start the same. Continue with increase

rounds until instructed to “skip to band” for desired
size.
The pattern has three sizes; newborn, toddler,
teen/adult. A smaller size hook should be used to
make the smaller version of each of these sizes.
Hook suggestions:
Newborn sizes: 0-6 mths newborn use I hook, 6-18 mths use J Hook
Toddler sizes: 18 mths – 24mths use I hook, 2T-4T use J hook
Teen/adult sizes: preteen and teen use I hook, adult use J hook

HEAD AND HAT SIZE CHART

for brand new babies to adult men

I prefer to make hats approx 1” smaller than the head circumference so they will stretch and not be too big.
Note: All measurements are approximate and based on “average” head sizes according to several online
