Creepy Skull

Trick or Treat Bag

Acrylic 4 ply yarn 1 skein or Small
Lilly Sugar and Cream 2 150 yard balls, Crochet Cotton # 10
size 5.50 mm (I) crochet hook, Size 2.00 mm (3) crochet hook
Small heat shaped beads to fill in eyes
large eye tapestry needle tapestry needle

Abbreviations
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet

Round 1

Make a magic circle, ch 3.

Make 15 dc in ring. Pull thread to close ring. Join with a sl st in top of ch. 16 sts
Round 2
Ch 3 (dc, in first st, 2 dc in next) all around row. 23 Sta

Round 3
Repeat round 2 34sts

Round 4
Repeat round 2 49 sts

Skip to skull pattern for small bag

Round 5 For Medium & large bags only

Ch 3, Dc . Inc (7 ) {14 st} even spaced around . (56 sts) {63sts}


To make an even larger bag add another round and increase by 7 more sts for each
extra skull. For Example 70 sts, 77 sts, 84 sts

Teeth
Round 1

Ch 3, (counts as first tooth ) 3 dc, ch 4, sk 3. (4 dc, sk 3, ch 4)5X ( 6X) {7X}. 4 dc, ch


1, dc into top of st chain to join. Brings thread over to the right place to start round 2.
7 sets (8) of teeth. Ch 1, turn.

Round 2
2 Sc over ch, (1 sc in the sp between ea of next 3 dc, 4 sc in next sp)6X (7X) {8X}. Sc
between each of the next 3 dc, 2 sc. Join with a sl st in 1st sc. Turn
Of the 4 sc between teeth, 2 belong to each skull.
Round 3
Nose and eye .
This round is worked as short rows, turning back and forth on the individual skulls.
Some of the sts share spaces with the row below. Identified as SS for shared st.
( You may have to Sk 1 st at the beginning of the 1st skull only. To set the row up
correctly you should have 2 sc over the first two on the ch 4 loop, and 1 sc over the 1 st
tooth. The ch 3 for the nose skips the middle sc made between the dc's. The sl st join
from the previous row makes it hard to find the first st. It is easier to count back from
the middle sc to make sure your nose is in the middle of the skull)

Nose (* a) 3 sc, ch 3, sk 1, 3 sc. Ch 5, turn


Eye ( b) Sk 3 sc, sl st into the ch 3 sp, ch 5, sk 2 sc, sl in next. Turn
(c) 6 sc in first loop, 6 sc in next. Sl st in SS row below.) Repeat from *a) 7x
(8X) {9}
Sl in 1 sc to join. Turn.
Round 4 It is easier to count the 8 sc if you start in the center of between the eyes and
count over 4.
Sc will appear as if on the wrong side, work them the same as usual through both loops
Sl in the next 2 sts. Ch 1, 8 sc across top of eyes. (Sk 4 st[ 2 on ea skull]) 8 sc) 6X (7X)
{8X}. Join with sl st in 1st sc. Turn

Round 5
Sl in the next 2 sts, ch 1. (4 sc, ch 4 sts [2 on ea skull], sk 4)7X (8X){9X}. Join with a sl
st in 1st sc of round. Turn

Round 6
New skulls form between old skulls
teeth 4 dc made over ch 4 between old skulls

Sl st into 1st st of ch Ch 3, (counts as first tooth) *3 dc over ch*. (Ch 4, sk next 4, 4


dc around loop, )6X (7X){8X}. Ch 4, 4 dc join with ch 1, dc in top st of the turning ch.
Ch 1, turn
Round 7
2 sc over ch, (1 sc between ea of next 3 dc , 4 sc over ch). 6X (7X). 3 sc between sts, 2
sc over ch. Join with a sl in 1 sc. Ch 1, turn

Round 8

Nose and eye .


This round is worked as short rows, turning back and forth on the individual skulls.
Sk 1 st
(* a) 3 sc, ch 3, sk 1, 3 sc. Ch 5, turn The ch 3 for the nose lines up over the middle
sc over the dc on the teeth. There should be 3 sc before and after
b) Sk 3 sc, sl st into the ch 3 sp, ch 5, sk 2 sc, sl in next. Ch 5 ,turn.

Turn
Round 9 same as round 4. It is easier to count the 8 sc if you start in the center of
between the eyes and count over 4.
Sl in the next 2 sts on eyes. Ch 1, 8 sc on top of skull, (sk 4 st[ 2 on ea skull]) 8sc) 7X,
(8X) {9}.Join with sl in 1st sc. Turn

Round 10 same as round 5


Sl st in the next 2 sts, ch 1. (4 sc, sk 4 sts [ 2 on ea skull] ch 4)7x , (8X) {9}. Join with a
sl st in 1st sc of round. Sl up 2 sts, ch 4 Turn
(Repeat from row 6 through 8 )1x for small.
Medium & Large, repeat rows 6 through 8 until desired length.

Medium and large (repeat from row 6 through round 10)1x, Then repeat rows 5
through 10 until desired length to drawstring. Then work rows 5 through 8 for the
ruffle.
Optional sew beads in skull eyes.
