Carbonite Availability for Linux Agent Installation:

Please stop and uninstall the current MCS-M services before proceeding to Carbonite agent
installation. Reboots do not need to be immediately performed and can be scheduled.
Stop replication agent:
service svagent stop
service vxagent stop

Uninstall InMage Agent

Carbonite Linux Agent Installation:

*As part of the agent installation, two local groups will be created on the server, “Double-Take Admin
and Double-Take Monitors”. By default the user account used to perform the agent installation will be
added to the Double-Take Admin group. An additional local user account will need to be created on
every protected server, this account needs to be manually created before the agent installation. The
new account should be named “DTuser”, the password should be set to never expire, and not required
to be change at initial login. The password should be set to the same for every server to be protected.
This account will need to be manually added to the Double-Take Admin and Monitors groups. This
account information, username and password, will be needed by the target server to setup replication.
The account needs to be created at the OS level before proceeding **

*Copy the DoubleTake-8.4.1.294.0-1.x86_64.rpm file from the FTP location: File is located in Carbonite\
Linux\x68.4.1.294.0

Copy the downloaded file to a temporary installation folder- \temp-install

Run the following commands as root or an account with SU

 cd \temp-install
 rpm –ivh DoubleTake-8.4.1.294.0-1.x86_64.rpm

When the installation is completed run the configuration setup:

 DTSetup

Press Enter to view License Agreement

Type “Yes”

Enter “1” for Setup Tasks

Enter “1” to enter License Key Menu

Enter “1” to set License Key

Enter the Activation Code (virtual server): akaw-bw1c-qe1b-70eu-ftzb-47z0

Enter the Activation Code (physical server): xv1g-6dq7-bx6a-phu1-afmt-uww8

Press Enter to continue and then Q to exit the License Key Menu
Enter “2” to Start/Stop the agent

Enter “1” to start the agent if it is stopped as shown below or “3” to restart.
Enter “Q” to quit this menu
Enter “1” to Add a Double Take Administrator and “3” to Add a Double Take Monitor. A Linux account
will need to be created that is not root. Enter “Q” to exit and continue to exit all menus.
