1. What was the starting point of the civil war ?

- The confederate army of the north decided to force their new policies on the south union. They
launched an all-out-attack on the southern troops in order to apply their new beliefs. This starting point
event took place in South Carolina where the first battle was won when the union(south) surrendered.
This was considered the starting point as the expansion started to grow larger towards the west.

Freeing the slaves was indeed a noble goal but it had a strong impact on the economic situations
especially in the south. The cotton fields in the union districts depended mainly on the African
Americans. This whole industry was the main source of income to the south. Having the slaves freed, the
industry needed to find workers with higher paid salaries and more demands. The economy took a big
hit, yet everyone knew it was the right thing to do.

Women before the war period were not in their best situations. Many laws were established to
demolish their rights. Now with the war going on and with a new management, women slowly began to
earn their rights and managed gradually to gain their rights. They slowly earned rights like controlling
their earnings, have custody over their kids and most importantly, the right to vote and apply for
political positions.

Abe managed to built the Republican Party into a strong organization. Further, he gathered the northern
Democrats and led them under one umbrella, which was the unity cause. In 1863, he issued the
Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy. He wasn’t
not a fighter of course, yet he was a chief commander of the army. His strong politics and powerful
speeches made it much easier for the people to follow his path.

It is unfortunate to admit that even though the war was launched to free slaves, it brutally eliminated
another nation, the Native Americans. They have been fighting against the British colonization since the
15th century. They were exiled from their land once again to the west and north due to the expansion
that was caused by the civil war. A vast number of generations was completely shattered into places like
Alaska , New Mexico and South Dakota
